I know how they work

I'm right near the Delaware River in a low laying area, so I'm moderately concerned about flooding from the expected stormsurge. Other than that though, it shouldn't be too bad.

silently judging all of you

This one seems particularly bad because A) it's large for a hurricane, if not all that powerful, and B) it's just brushing the coastline, and able to keep fueling itself off the ocean. Most hurricanes blow themselves out into tropical storms after moving on land in short order, but this one is juuuuuust close enough to keep drawing in tropical energy and drag things out. Also, C) it's hitting the most densely populated area of the US.

I need a new rock bottom.

Nothing got too damaged by me a couple trees down here or there but I figured that is par for the course. Hopefully everyone else is okay as well!

"And so Irene makes the consistant rookie mistake of heading inland. Oooh her coach won't be too happy about this move."

"Well it seems to me that earlier in the season Irene had dented her motion cycle when on her approach of Florida, so that may have made her momentum keep her going north with no control over herself"

"Ahh terrible, terrible news for a once formidable contender. So over to Trish with the Weather."

Crono can cross dimensions too!

Holy shit, has anyone else seen highway 12 in Avon (hatteras/nags head)? That's pretty much a 3 month kill on getting anyone in and out outside using a ferry.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Still ducking out in philly for the time, apparently most of my town and all the ones neighboring it got a nice amount of flooding, broken tree's/utility poles, and massive amounts of power outages. I'm mildly hoping for nothing to be left around my place. Am also mildly disappointed in the lack of news about looting during the storm.

It happens once a year at least. Maybe not that bad, but the island is less than half a mile wide there. It's even called haulover, because before the Oregon Inlet was formed ships used to pull up to that spot and they'd haul the goods over the island there.

You can still get to the island if the cedar island and ocrocake ferries are running.

Things were mostly windy in New Brunswick, Canada. Trees and power poles were uprooted on my street causing every transformer in a 10 block radius to explode and half my city was without power for a few days. A farm down the road had sparks from said transformers blow into their barn and burned it and almost two acres of land to the ground. No fatalities but 3 horses died.

Irene knocked my power out for 3 1/2 days and knocked down some trees (including a branch perilously close to a power line in my backyard). Other than that, the worst damage was widespread outtages and some flooding of low-lying local roads.

North Jersey and Upstate NY though, holy shit. I feel for those people.

A lot was done to premptively handle anything that could be. Maybe we've learned our Hurricane lesson.

Still can't figure out links so I'll just post the fucking thing. why I my vacation is ruined.
You highlight a word and then click the link button next to the quotation marks on the tool bar, then enter in the address to the window that appears.

Those before and after pictures were really amazing. I'm sorry for their misfortune. :(

I feel bad about what happened to everybody on the East Coast while I was in AZ.

Granted, it wasn't fun and games there, either. Flights were cancelled and I was stuck for almost a week. I was pretty worried about my own house for a while, too.
