silently judging all of you

The more I read about Origins, the more I'm glad I pirate things.  It won't take long for that shiz to get bypassed.

It's really weird how EA won't use Steam for DA2 and ME3, but they have no problems with putting KoA Reckoning on there.

Part of it is that EA doesn't own 38 Studios, they were just a publishing partner. It gives 38 more freedom when it comse to PC publishing than Bioware would have, since they're wholly owned by EA and thus EA controls everything about their publishing and DLC distribution.

It's still pretty shitty and I think goes a long way to show just how petty EA is, though. I don't really buy KoA being a surprise hit because that game had TONS of uzz from the moment it was announced due to the names attached to it. Everyone knew it was going to sell a lot because of that alone. I get that it's not all EA's vault, Valve is a little greedy for demanding that bit of DLC cut too, but Gabe Newell has gone on record saying he's willing to try to work things out with EA. EA seems wholly unwilling because they want ALL TEH MONEYZ.

It won't, but it still sucks for those of us (like me) who actually want to buy it. I'm getting the PC N7 Colelctor's Edition, and I can't really just use an Origin bypass crack because that could mess with my DLC and multiplayer access :\

Genitals are Funny

Got the demo on PS3. Fist time i have ever played a ME game on console. Didn't get it on PC because  i didn't wanna bother with origin or EA account and all that.

So first off i didn't like the controls, i couldn't make a character look good so that annoyed me, and i didn't bother trying the multiplayer because i would of needed an EA account thing.

Apart from all that though it was fun. Ashley looks so different it's weird.  Minor spoiler as well, but seeing a female krogan, never thought it would ever happen.

I don't get why you would switch platforms in the third act. I hate Origin, but I'm willing to live with it to be able to import my save files, at the very least.

The demo seemed pretty cool.  But I don't know whether they are teasing playable Wrex, or if you actually GET playable Wrex.  I WANT WREX IN MY CREW DAMMIT!!!

No answer, must be that deaf bitch.

Reminds me of ME2, so that's good enough for me.

Forgot how much I missed this story.

They've been surprisingly coy on the playable characters in ME3, even this close to launch. Technically this is all spoilers, so read at you own risk:

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Here's what we do know:

  • Fewer "permanent" party members than ME2
  • Everyone from ME1 and 2 who was alive at the end of those respective games will return. This includes Kasumi and Zaeed.
  • However, not all of these characters will be squad members. Some will only appear as NPCs (Such as Mordin, who was confirmed a while back to only be an NPC). All returning character will, however, have some role to play.
  • Those who are not permanent party members and are not NPCs may appear as temorary or optional squad members. They've been vauge on if this means that some of them we can get for the whole game, but are optional, if they only join us for a few missions, or a mixture of both.
  • The confirmed permanent squad members are: Ashley Williams or Kaiden Alenko, Liara T'Soni, Garrus Vakarian and Tali'Zorah vas Normandy (if they survived ME2), and James Vega. No word yet on if this is the final list or not, but I would expect at least one more permanent member.
  • Kei Lang, from the Mass Effect books, will be appearing in the game in some fashion. No word on what role he plays.
  • The N7 Collector's Edition of the game includes a mission and a bonus character to go along with it, likely a temporary character. Bioware has still given no details on the content of this bonus content, though it will supposedly be available to standard edition purchesers on day one.
  • Since talk of squad members also leads to talk of romance and love interests, we do know that there will be new/more love interests in ME3, and they will cater this time to m/f, f/f, and m/m romances.
  • The only confirmed new love interest that I am aware of is Diane Allers, a human reporter who apparently is a m/f and possibly f/f LI. No word yet on if "new love interests" will include restoring the originally planned f/f romances from ME2 (existing in game dialogue and left over data, cutscenes, and conversations in ME2 suggest that definitely MIranda, probably Jack, and possibly Tali were all meant to be romancable by FemShep)

And EA shows why they are one of the biggest piece of shit game publishers around:

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/17/origin-ends-offer-of-battlefield-3-bonus-with-mass-effect-3-earl/

So they offer a free game as an incentive until March 5th... and then pull the offer 2 weeks early. Fuck I want to pirate it now.

Man, for serious, if I could change one thing about the gaming industry (other than the same pro-female improvements I'd make to basically all entertainmetn media) it would be to get Bioware out from underneath EA's writhing, heaving mass... effect*.

*Sorry, couldn't resist.

Wow, that is a massive level of bullshit. Way to fucking go, EA. I feel sorry for anyone who cancelled a store preorder tot ake advantage of that. Particularly if they were going form physical CE to digital CE like one of my friends did. You can't get that physical one back :\

I was going to get the PC version after finding a program to convert saves, but then of course the demo revealed that ME3 still doesn't have controller support (despite the fact that the FAQ on EA's site still lists support for the 360 controller). I guess that means I'll just finish out the series on the 360. I was really disappointed by that, especially since even indie games are shipping with full 360 controller integration from launch these days.

I do have the game preordered and I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but I've really been apprehensive about some of the things I've been hearing.
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
EDI had to be turned into a sexy fembot so Joker can have sex with her?

Seriously Bioware? I really hope that isn't indicative of how they're writing the rest of the game.

I've invested enough into the series that I doubt I'll regret preordering it, but it's almost definitely the last Bioware game I'll ever buy on faith.

Please tell me she doesn't still have the boob window in her uniform like the ridiculous concept art that was floating around a few months ago had (I'm skiping the demo, so I can't see for myself). It wouldn't be a surprise, but it would be pretty depressing.
