The other thread has gotten to the point where we can't really talk about anything but the ending and it's not like we have 100 active threads so I think a second ME3 topic is needed.  Just take your ending discussion elsewhere.

I just finished Priority: Citadel 2.  I'm really loving Garrus and Liara as my squadmates.  I am LOVING the rifle I found recently with a scope on it.  Incin ammo + extremely fast recharge concussion shot = badass Soldier.

Spoilers up to where I am:
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
I cured the genophage but I hated to see Mordin die, he will be missed.  Thane too... after all that effort to save their butts in ME2!.

I feel like they're trying to go more towards ME1 with a centralized vilain (whatever his name is).  I could be wrong... don't tell me.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
If it wasn't for the fact taht Thane and Mordin's deaths were so well written, emotional, and meaningful to the events around, I probably would've felt really burned that I kept them alive just for them to die, even though I figured Thane would always die of his illness during ME3. But BioWare really outdid themselves with those two, and I absolutely loved it.

I really like Javik.  He has gold material, and the delivery is perfect.

Yep, still gaming

Was I the only one that loved Eve?, I loved her clothes, her voice, her attitude, her story, favorite newcomer in the game.

So what happens if you let those ME2 crew members die?

Just some generic NPC fills there shoes?

Yes.  And in one of mine, they didn't make it.

Pretty much. I think tali's replaced by Admiral Raan from ME2, otherwise it's just generic NPCs.

Also Javik is a total troll and I love every minute of it. THey did a great job of makig him really interesting and insightful without making it feel like you were missing something from the core game without him. But having him around adds so much.

I brought Garrus and Liara on the mission to save the female Krogan and during that part where that Yahg broke free and eviscerated some Cerberus troops and Garrus went "Oh, there goes the next Shadow Broker. And I think I hear it saying 'T'Soni, T'Soni!'" and Liara went, "Not funny", I lost it.

Any conversation between Liara and her Dad.

"...but you are a quarter Krogan."
"Things like that don't matter."
"Whoa, there, don't go all blood rage on me."

It's that deadpan deliver that does it every time.

I just witnessed a scene between Shepard and Liara with her basically making a time capsule for future generations, should they fail to stop the Reapers.  I chose to be honest about my facts, but it was quite the inspiring scene.

First post here on the new board, and I won't go all rant rage about ME3... Already read far too much of it on the BSN, Xbox Live forums and others.

ME3 was a good game and tbh,I thought some of the graphical designs were superb. I won't go into detail here (As I don't want to spoil anything), but one point relatively early in the game struck me as to both the beauty and tragedy of what was happening.

I did like the customization of the weapons and then actually to see the difference ingame was a nice touch. Running into some older friends/enemies from side missions etc from ME and ME2 was nice as well... seeing how they had changed due to the events of ME3.

However I did feel a bit of... discontinuation with the previous titles as I played further into the game. Other issues such as going for one weapon, and the game pulled another (Example: During a mission I went to change to my shotgun from my assault rifle... ended up drawing my sniper rifle instead. Nothing major I admit... just... annoying. For the record, I use the controller and not the Kinect.

There are some other issues, which I won't go into detail here as they do lead up to talking about the ending and this thread isn't about that. All in all, it is a good game... it's not worthy of all the perfect scores Official reviewers gave for it and it does have it's faults, like every game available does.

I've only played the multiplayer part of the demo a few times, before the games official release (haven't played it since due to connection issues and download of the Xbox 360 service update), but I'm not to enthused about it. I get the feeling that while BioWare stated you don't need to play the multiplayer to get the best out of the game, is a lie. Bt, as it involves the ending, I won't comment here about it.

I do hope that BioWare does release some DLC/patches to fix the problems etc with the game, as being the final installment of Shepard's story, it deserves better than what is available now.

I don't find it any buggier than either of the previous two games, Revan, maybe even less so.

I really like this game.  The complaints I've had have all been really minor, and the praise I've lavished on certain scenes (Priority: Tuchanka was fucking amazing.  Fucking.  Amazing.  See below.)

Knowing the ending, though I haven't played through to it myself yet, I find that I have... philosophical differences with most gamers.  I won't go into it here, though, and I'll wait 'til I've finished the game before diving into the conversation in the other thread.

Grunt--
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
That motherfucker.  Last stand, swelling gorgeous score, sacrifice to save the rest of us?  That was gorgeous, amazing.  Amazing.

And then he's like, "Hey y'all, I could really use a sandwich."  I don't think I can properly spell the sound I made when he showed up, covered in blood.

Priority: Tuchanka, Mordin:
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Oh man.  Oh man.  I have so many things to say.  I went into this with Wrex alive, Maelon's research intact, and Mordin surviving ME2.  I got a call from the Dalatress, and I wanted to flip that bitch the bird.  Betray two of my closest friends (Mordin is tops, Wrex second only to him and Garrus) and doom an entire race?  Fuck you, bitch, get the hell off my holographic projector.

And then the underground temple.

And then the overground temple.

And then motherfuckin' Kalros?  Nomming on that prick Wreave (I think if Wrex were dead Shepard wouldn't have let the Genophage be cured, honestly)?  Awesome.

And then facing down a (small) Reaper face first, point blank, dodging giant lasers and stomping talons, taking on three Brutes at once before realizing I could just bypass them?  It was time to be big damn heroes, and we stepped up.

And then Mordin.  Oh, Mordin.  Mordin has been my favorite character since my very first ME2 playthrough.  Mordin is incredible.  Mordin is one of the best written characters of the last decade, a brilliant blend of hard-edge badass, brilliant scientist, and self-aware comedic relief.  And he went out like a champ.  I had his death spoiled and went into it with dread but man, that was perfect.  Absolutely perfect.  A truly fitting end to an incredible character.

"It has to be me.  Someone else might have gotten it wrong."

And Mav:  Eve is awesome.  I want her in my squad so bad.  I guess James is our Krogan now, which is... eh, not terrible, but he ain't Wrex or even Grunt.

Other bits and bobs:

Kasumi:
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
So I got the Kasumi DLC late in the ME2 cycle, while playing my backup Shep, who's an Adept.  THAT Shep won her loyalty.  My main Shep, though, only met her on the Citadel and brought her into the squad--I'd long since finished the playthrough and didn't want to load it up just to run her singular (kinda annoying) mission, but I DID want her to show up in ME3 if she was going to.

And then she did, out of the blue.  I'd just watched the wife play through her mission without having ever done any of the DLC stuff from ME2 so I was legitimately surprised when the Salarian dropped her name and then she showed up.  She bitched a little about not helping her out, and I realized her lack of loyalty was showing through.

And then a computer blew up in her face and she died and I nearly spit out my coffee.  "What the hell?!  Did they just kill Kasumi like a bridge ensign on the Enterprise?!" I exclaimed.

I looked it up the next day and found out that she's not really dead!  She's faking it.  And if she's loyal she'll actually reveal this too you after the fact and join the war effort.

Jack:
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
I ran into Jack at Purgatory, with her awesome new haircut, and asked her to come with me and of course she refused, and I was like, Goddamn it Jack, this is the first time I've ever actually wanted you in my squad and you can't come!  Argh.  ME3 Jack is like... ME2 Jack with everything I didn't like about her excised and replaced with 100% pure awesomness.  It's hard to describe.  It's like they took the hard edge that made her feel so pointless and derivitive and sanded it down so that she feels like an organic character for the first time, not just a ball of anger and issues.

EDI, Joker:
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
I have no problem with EDI becoming a sexy sexy sexbot.  This is a series with not one but two races of autonomous mechanical sentients, putting an AI into a robot body ain't exactly a stretch.  I can't say I like her design much, as she looks really fucking boring and her tits are just out of control, but that's another matter.

I just had a conversation with Joker in which I convinced him to give fucking her a chance and didn't realize until way after that she might just not be equipped, and that made me laugh.

Priority: Citadel
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
I do hate the book's Mary Sue showing up as an actual important character.  The blond chick from the academy is also a book character but she's relegated to a minor roll, while Leng (spelling?) is apparently a legit antagonist, and also really fucking dumb looking.  I look forward to stomping his bitch ass into the ground.

Also: lol Udina.  That was fanservice at it's finest.

I like a lot of the little things.  I hate running back and forth across the Citadel a million times every few quests but despite that I really like it when I stumble on an argument and get to decide which side to support.  I like that all the million runaround quests I do all directly feed into war effort--nothing feels wasted, nothing feels pointless.  Everything connects.  I love that my main crew show up on the Citadel and walk around the Normandy, and I love that that crew isn't limited to my combat squad (so the shuttle pilot, the specialist), or even to the people who are on my ship full-time (the diplomats, Mordin, Eve).  The new Kelly Chambers, Specialist Traymore is somehow actually better than Kelly Chambers herself, which is saying a lot (and sadly Kelly herself looks and acts terrible now, but alas, that's PTSD and a new graphics engine for you).

One complaint I'll field actually goes back as far as ME2:
I'm a Paragon.  I don't think I should get Renegade points for putting a bullet in someone, if that person has a gun and intent to shoot me or someone else, esp. if that person is effectively defenseless.  I'm talking specifically about the last little bit in that Citadel spoiler, but also in Ilium in ME2 when that Asari gangster tried to get the jump on me.

The biggest flaw with the Paragon/Renegade is definitely the action scenes, in which a Renegade option pops up and if you're playing a Paragon Shep, as I usually do, there's a bit of hesitation that can cause you to miss your window, and while this can work it usually doesn't.  There's a difference between a good Renegade action, like punching a reporter (I never don't do this, no matter what kind of Shep I'm playing) or threatening someone with your gun (or straigth up murdering them)... and defending  yourself or the helpless with violence, and the latter example comes so rarely that it's easy to dismiss that flashing red icon assuming that it'll make your Shepard into a total asshole, as opposed to a hero.

So [CHARACTER REDACTED] is corrupt as far as Shepard knows, and he pulls a gun on [CHARACTER REDACTED] and is about to execute her point blank.  Shepard?  Wouldn't hesitate.  She'd just blow him away.  And she wouldn't even feel bad about it afterwards because he was about to execute an unarmed person.  It creates a disconnect between gameplay and character development.  (And I know it's going to pop up in the ending and I'm already ready to put one in [CHARACTER REDACTED].)

Mid game spoilers regarding the Citadel:

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
So I had my little Citadel Adventure and that was certainly exciting, to say the least, but those Phantoms are annoying as hell.

That said, like you, Reido, I didn't hesitiate to pull the trigger on Udina.  I always thought he was slimely, but I pegged it up to him just being a politician, which showed when he was all on board with you early in the game, but then to find out he turned traitor?  Bastard was going to get a bullet in him, either as interrigation or for execution.

That said, I wonder why he decided now, of all times, was the best time to do a power grab like this?  I mean, seriously, REAPERS, man!  Now isn't the best time to do your little coup.

Also, he was going to get a bullet for what happened with Thane.  But now sword guy needs to die for it, too.

Priority: Tuchanka:

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Tuchanka is the place where good men die, it seems.  Despite knowing in advance that Mordin was going to die, the scene leading up to it shows how, despite what people think of the ending, that Bioware knows what they're doing.  It was an extremely well-written scene which showed Mordin's growth and absolution.  He knew what would happen and gladly accepted it, echoing his statements from ME2.

It had to be him and nobody else.  It also showed later, where Wrex has a new found respect for our quirky scientist.

Speaking of those with respect, I'm actually sad to see LT Victus die a hero's death, as well.  To be honest, I thought he'd help in the war effort, but to see him sacrifice himself to stop a bomb his people put on the planet to ensure peace speaks more about that family than the race as a whole.  Hell, you could tell that his Dad was ready to break down in front of Shepard over the loss.

Which is weird, since I'm pretty sure Victus Junior was voiced by Batman.
