Just in case you didn't hear, Blizzard are doing an open beta weekend for Diablo 3 this weekend. It's a bit short notice, but probably in part to their cock up in releaseding the starter version earlier than they meant to.

Log in to your battle.net account and check your download page (https://eu.battle.net/account/management/download/) and you should be able to log straight in.

If you've played WoW, then you'll be familiar with the downloader.

Oh I'm in and found out that my PC will run it just fine. Collector's Edition now pre-ordered...dammit.

Pass on this. Not gonna be supporting a single-player game that requires you to be online all the fucking time.

Been a big fucking waste of time and bandwidth on my part so far.

Downloaded it overnight last night. Go to start it up this morning and it display the Diablo 3 splash graphic, then the screen goes black and it just loads....forever.

I left the house for a few hours with it doing that, then I came back and it was actually on the login screen. It wouldn't even let me hit the log-in button, so I guess the servers are down.

My comp  ran SC2 on ultra settings and I'm playing Witcher 2 and ME3 on it right now. I'm really hoping these problems are game related and not that my PC isn't up to scratch. It's not looking good for a game that I have pre-ordered and comes out in a few weeks.

So tonight it magically started working....what?

Feels like Diablo to me. Not sure what everyone is hating on. Definitely like it better than Torchlight so far. Diablo is just oozing with character and you can tell they put some more focus on story this time around. Yay Tristam.

Only logged off b/c they were shutting down the server.

I guess we don't get to keep our characters. I'm loving the demon hunter, but I knew I would because I always loved playing Amazon and Trap Assassin. I really wish I could keep her into release.

It's a sign I really, really missed Diablo when I'm grinning from ear to ear the first time the Tristram theme hits or when little familiar sound effects play. Loving the Wizard, but I should try out a few other classes.

Took it all the way to the end. A little erked that I'm going to have to do it all over again. Really enjoyed it though. Felt good to spend some more time in Tristram.

I enjoyed it, though I think I'll need a new computer to run this game. Runs on my laptop just fine except for the fact that it seems like my Graphics Card is about to melt. The game did warn me about something to do with my graphics card. Other then that, I'm really really REALLY enjoying the witch doctor class. Not a big fan of the Demon Hunter class though. Probably won't be day 1 due to PC but I will be getting it eventually.

I enjoyed the beta a lot more than I ever did like Diablo 2. Maybe playing Monk had something to do with it. But it feels a lot more actiony and faster-paced than D2 did.

I'll give Demon Hunter a shot tomorrow. Really the only other class I'm interested in trying out in Beta since I hear it's underpowered and also I don't really know what to expect with it.  Maybe see what the actual difference between Wizard and Witch Doctor is. But I'm pretty sure I know what to expect with Barbarian.
