"Writing Movies for Fun and Profit", by two of the Reno 911 guys. Enjoyable, behind the scenes look at how to wite for the studio system in Hollywood.
I read this a few weeks ago and loved it. I loved their listing of every location and phone number of all the In-and-Out's in California.

I'm listening to Lord of Chaos now in an attempt to catch up with all the WoT books before the last one comes out.

So, does any of you have one of those reading tablet thingies?, we were being "classic" with my husband until my friend arrived with a Kobo reader and we fell head over heels in love with it, so I'm currently hinting that I want a Kindle for my birthday and I'm thinking about giving one to my husband on his birthday.

Is there any con about them?, because right now, the concept seems pretty much perfect.

Oh, and I'm reading a book about Captain Kidd, it's called The Pirate Hunter, a good read if you are interested in the Golden Age of Piracy.

I was all pro paper and con Kindle until my mum got one and I have to say, it's such a fantastic thing. Obviously if you like the feeling of paper that much then it's not going to be for you, but it's amazingly convenient and very easy to read from(not to mention the space you save on books).

I have a Nook. I don't think I'll ever go back to paper books again.

<span style="color: #3366ff;">You don't get that lovely book smell from Kindle/Nook. Therefore I shall stick to actual, physical books. Plus I find it easier to read from a page than a screen.</span>

Just finished this a couple weeks ago. Definitely worth the read. Some of the conclusions were expected, but aweome to see the research and reference behidn the logic. Other items were major game changers, especially towards the end. The format of the book is really awesome as well with the literal list of ways to fix reality.

Yeah, I love books too, the problem is, we buy so many that we are seriously running out of space and on top of that, I've noticed that we would save a ton of money if we just get them electronically, and I know this sounds dumb, but the possibility of having just one hand out of the covers when in bed in winter is very tempting; the thing is... yeah, the weight and feel of a book, opening it and running your fingers through the pages and of course, big art books and books like them probably aren't good to have in a Kindle or Nook (if they even have them available) and how nice they look on a shelf and all that.

Hmmm, perhaps I'm not as ready as I thought to have one.

I just finished a Storm of Swords.

How to introduce a character, make him appear very badass, make him become my new favorite character, only to kill him, in one single chapter. I hate you GRR.

About a third of the way through Clash of Kings and I find it very hard to put it down. Stupid work and other responsiblities are so inconsiderate to my book reading time.

Started reading A Feast for Crows, then realized it was pissing me off that it is split form A Dance with Dragons. SO I read about 300 pages of AFfC, started ADwD, and will read about 300 pages of that, then return to AFfC, alternating with each until I finish AFfC. I hope to God I find some chronological rhythm to them.

And which character, Kal? With so much going on, I'm having trouble remembering anyone that, uh, memorable.

I don't know how to do a spoiler tag here so highlight &gt; <span style="color: #201f24;">Oberyn "Red Viper of Dorne" Martell</span>&lt;. The whole chapter with the duel is just so intense.

I wonder if there is some fan-made list of the chapters in AFFC and ADWD so you can read them all in the appropriate order without splitting between the two.

Thought that was who you were talking about. Yeah, he was cool, and wasted.

I've looked everywhere for a list of chapters to guide me in my attempt. One weird thing: early in each book, the same conversation takes place between Sam and Jon, but from Sam's POV in AFfC and from Jon's in ADwD. Odd reading the exact same words with different emotions on either side. It is one place where the timelines obviously coincide, and so far, the only place I have found yet where it's clear. I figured about 300 pages would get me there, and hopefully I could end AFfC and pick up ADwD where the "new" narrative chapters in ADwD begin and mix the characters back up.

If anyone has a list, point me to it.

This was about the best AFFC + ADWD list I could find so far with a quick Google search: <a href="https://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/forum/1516518-post7.html";>https://www.sffchronicles.co.uk/forum/1516518-post7.html<;/a>
