So has Batman been operating... prior to JL #1, so he's been doing is thing for MORE than the five years people have been bandying about since this thing was announced?
Yes, but I have no idea how long, same as with Hal Jordan who has been obviously operating for awhile as well, since Bruce was aware of him.

"Of Christ's twelve Apostles Judas alone proved to be traitor. But if he had acquired power, he would have represented the other eleven Apostles as traitors, and also all the lesser Apostles whom Luke numbers as seventy." - Leon Trotsky

I have a blog. This is its URL. You should read it. It's about education and skepticism and books and it has a lot of pictures of Batman and Robin in it: https://baldermoon.wordpress.com/

That makes a heck of a lot more sense than the situation the rumors were centered around with, esp. taking the Bat- and GL-timelines into account. Consider it a point in the DCNU's collumn, I suppose.

Supposedly, these are from Didio's facebook page:

Are the old JLI stories in continuity? Were Ted and Booster ever friends? Is Max Lord still evil?

"Hard to be friends with people that were never around, as for Max, I don't see him as evil, just determined."

With the Jaime Reyes origin being retold, any way Ted Kord can now be his tutor?

"Jaime is the one and only Blue Beetle."

What's the status of Connor Hawke in the DCnU? Does he still exist?

"Well, if Oliver Queen is in his mid twenties..."

DiDio when asked if "New Krypton" happened in this continuity

"magic eight ball says "Not Likely""

That last one is so good and so bad all at once.

And seriously, does DC not realize the fanbase that Booster and Beetle had/have?

Didn't they try that, with that Superman Earth 1 book or whatever, and it was generally panned?

Picked up Action Comics, Stormwatch, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, Justice League International and Green Arrow today.

The first four I can recommend without reservation to anyone. Animal Man was a really nice surprise with its really interesting art style and all. Action Comics brings Superman back to where he was back when he debuted, as a hero for the people, which works really well with Grant Morrison at the helm. Stormwatch and Swamp Thing had way more set up than actual action, but they both had great writing with really strong character work.

JLI and Green Arrow were both good, but way more of what you would expect. JLI's set up is just like it was under Giffen, but with August General in Iron added on and a new guy helming the team. It's got a bit of international tension as a sub plot to the usual superheroics, though, which is a nice touch. Green Arrow is also back to where he was when the character was first introduced: a rich playboy who gets off on adventure. It was good, but...we'll see how it goes.

In all, a good week. Excited for the rest of the issues to come out.

For the first time in...ever...I'm interested in a Superman comic. I'm really digging the "Man of the people" thing he's got going on.

I also read Detective Comics 1 and it was okay. The ending made me roll my eyes but other than that it wasn't as offensively bad as I heard it was.

Red Robin #26

The final issue before "The New 52" really sucked. It spent more time flashing back to how Tim set up Captain Kangaroo than it did him actually fighting his father's killer and having his moral dilemma. The tacted on crap at the end with Dick and then Bruce was pretty sad. At least it's over.

Good God Damn was Demon Knights fucking GREAT.

Is it just me or are all of the Edge and Dark comics way better than the cape comics? Demon Knights, Animal Man, Frankenstein, Swamp Thing, Stormwatch...Don't get me wrong, Green Lantern, Red Lanterns, Batman and Robin and Batwoman are all great, but aside from Action Comics, the capes are getting totally outclassed.
