That Wilfred finale blew my mind...

Now, as I look back I see the crooked path that I had been set upon all those years before, leading me inexorably to this moment. I can still see her face in my mind's eye, poor dear Laura, such a sad tale is ours. A tale of heroes who strove to save humanity only to lose our own.

Yes, what of it?

So I just got caught up on the majority of this half season of Burn Notice. While I see the build up of the new villain to be an interesing one, for the first time, I'm underwhelmed. I was left with the thought: "Uuhhh.... Okay?"

This season of Wilfred has been hit and miss. At times it has been just plain bizarre (both good and bad bizarre). It has had greatness (the doggy daycare episode immediately springs to mind) and it has had boringness (the episode with Ryan's mom was underwhelming).

The season finale put it all together, the comedy, the bizarre, the underlying drama.

The cliffhanger: EXCELLENT.

I will be back next season.

Miracle Day ended sorta... ehhhh? Not bad, persay, just sort of... random. I think a lot of it was Oswald being Oswald ("Hey it's time for a heroic sacrifice--OH YEAH DON'T FORGET I'M A FUCKING TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING") and the editing being wonky.

Though, at the end, that "What?" "What?" "What?" "What the hell?" made me lol.

^ I'm surprised that Rory still wants to be in the Tardis after that. If it was me I wouldn't want to see the Doctor ever again.

I really think that was the beginning of the end for Amy and Rory to travel with the Doctor - I think it's leading up to them leaving. I know Karen Gillan's said she'll be back in series seven, but for all we know it's like Martha appearing in series four.

Somebody loves ya.

My Twitter feed has informed me that Breaking Bad is now on Netflix Instant.

Which... I guess means I should start watching it, yeah?

So I scanned the AICN comments on The Girl Who Waited, but no one seemed to catch what's either a goof or possibly something else. At that shot at approximately 44:20 (when Amy is passed out in the TARDIS with Rory and the Doctor talking), watch the right side of the frame. A white-shirted shoulder clearly moves into frame. Goof? Then again, that's a pretty big mistake for someone filming not to notice immediately. Plus remember the mistake with the Doctor's missing coat last season... I've been to film school and been on many amateur film sets, and something that obvious creeping into frame would never make it past the cameraman. Then, when you've got it in editing and the editor is watching 3 to 10 takes of that same shot, that seems like a pretty obvious thing for that editor to miss. Then again, I'm probably just making too much out of it.

Anyway, I've been very split on the episodes from seasons 5 and 6 of DW, but these last three have been spectacular.

A lot of Gillan's comments on being back next series seem to make it clear that she's going to be around for the majority of it. Darvill, on the other hand, has amde it sound like Rory may not be around the entire time, which given his theatre commitments, makes complete sense for him to ahve a reduced role.

Shoulder? Looked more like a knee to me.

I'm not sure I agree about the comeback episode, but the last two have been great DW episodes.

Bah! I'm so bummed that I have missed almost all of this current run of Futurama because of the community theatre play I've been doing. I need to get a DVR.
You have the internet. Is it any different? Really? :P

Finally got caught up with and finished Miracle Day. It actually got interesting in the last few episodes, though the show would've been so much stronger if it were 6 episodes instead of 10 and hadn't randomly inserted special guest characters of the week (like the chick from Dollhouse who got her head twisted around, and the woman who got trash compacted). It saved one of the best characters for too late in the game (John de Lancie) and they should've sprinkled the CIA mole in more during the earlier episodes to make the betrayal more meaningful. Oh, and not to mention all the concepts they wildly came up with and didn't know what to do with: the 43rd floor group of suicide people, that masked cult of people, and of course Oswald "Everyone hates me until I give a speech that makes sense but then people love me but then hate me again" Danes. On the whole, if Davies and company had done some editing and polishing of the scripts, MD would've up there with Children of Earth.

Too bad we probably won't be seeing more Torchwood. I would've enjoyed some more Rex Matheson and Jilly Kissinger.
