Let's Player

I've been posting my let's plays up here for a while now...and I think people are probably bored of seeing them pop up all the time. They're also probably cluttering up the place a wee bit :/
So, what I've decided is that I'll throw a link to the playlist of each series in this thread from now on, with the opening of each series.

If anyone thinks there's a better way to do this, I'll be happy to take comments on board :)

As for now, here's my new series, which is Sound Shapes! It's not gonna be a long series, but I hope you enjoy all the same :)

My most recent 3 let's plays:

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - Link (Din, Onox, Maku...I'm so funny)
Killer7 (Completed) - Link
Luigi's Mansion (Completed!) - Link

Hey dude,

I feel bad for you working in a vacuum, but if you wanted some kind of feedback, I haven't checked out any of your videos.

As a self-confessed spoilerphobe, I hold very close to the belief that I should experience games/movies etc myself, without reading too many reviews/previews or other people's opinions.

In that regard, the very idea of "Let's plays" is opposite to how I approach media: Watching someone else play a game for me.

I did however watch the Spoony Let's Plays of SWAT4, because I think he was producing some good content at the time, and the SWAT4 gametype genre is something I would never have any interest in playing.

If you wanna nominate what you think is your "best" work, I'll watch it to give you a chance to change my mind on Lets Plays.

So Sigh Ety

Lets plays are very useful IMO, especially as a walkthrough in areas where FAQs dont quite do the job. It's also nice to revisit some scenes I miss or if I remember some funny dialogiue I want to track down. It's also useful for games that have stupidly hard final bosses that you spent 2 hours fighting and up dying because they use some super attack you can't foresee that causes instant death on your party members but you still want to watch the ending (Persona 4 for me)

I wouldn't really watch from start to finish though or any big chunk.

Yeah betteridea to just post the first in each series here.

Ah, danke. I'm not sure if any of my stuff would change anyones' opinions on let's plays...but I guess my best would be my first (strangely). That would be my FF9 series (which improves slowly as I go through, showing the progression I hopefully made as an lper:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6ED078F1940C9092

If you'd like a shorter one, my series with the most views (for whatever reason) is my Sonic: Master System Version series:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF129C1E14F4CA738

This one is really short...which may make it the better choice :)

@Spidey: Thanks for the feedback. I'll make sure to just chuck the opening movie from each series here from now on so that people know that there is a new series available to watch on youtube if they fancy it :)

The King's orders are absolute

You could also do what I've been doing and put the links to your current/most recent LP playlists in your signature so that they come up on every page that you post in.  I really don't know how effective that is, in all honesty.

Spidey: Defending is key to surviving that stage of the final boss of Persona 4. Near the end of the battle, when the boss does Stagnant Air and Mind Charge back to back, have everyone defend until the boss does the World's End/Summons to Yomi combo that would inflict status ailments on the party and then insta-kill anyone with a status ailment. Defending prevents status ailments, so as long as you're not underleveled you should survive the attack and be able to resume the fight, hopefully finishing it before that combo comes up again.

Let's Play Chrono Trigger
Let's Play The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
Let's Play Final Fantasy VI

Atma Weapon
I Am Pure Energy

Appreciate your enthusiasm greeny.

That being said, the reason I haven't commented, is pretty simple. It's not that fun to watch a stranger play a game I have already experienced for myself. And if I haven't, I don't want to use my leisure time spoiling it for myself.

Oh no, Atma! I'm not complaining about people not commenting or anything! I just think people would prefer it if I simply put links to my lp's in one thread rather than ransacking the entire forum with loads of different lp threads :)

I completely understand if you don't want to watch for either of the reasons that you've stated. I'm the same with unplayed games (but only if I know that I'll be playing them at some point).

As for your point about watching a series about a game you've played already:
You can pick up on tips/bits of trivia/things to make fun of etc. But if you don't find it fun in general then you'll just be bored shitless lmao.

Thanks for your feedback :$

------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the opening to what will be my next let's play: Banjo Kazooie! This game is an N64 3d-platformer, pretty similar to Mario 64 in many ways. It was made by the amazingly talented people over at Nintendo and Rareware.

If you would like to buy it now-a-days, then you can head over to the Xbox 360 Live store and buy the HD remaster for a cheap price for such a classic :)

https://youtu.be/4gMorpTtbZU

Here's the banjo kazooie wiki link if you fancy finding out a bit more:

http://banjokazooie.wikia.com/wiki/Banjo-Kazooie_Wiki

The series will be starting tomorrow! Hope to see you there! :D
