I have a 250 gig HD and a 1 tera HD and I just got a 1.5 tera HD only to discover that it doesn't look like I can fit it in my computer physically.

Windows 7 is installed onto the 250 gig.  Would I be able to remove the 1 tera, put in the 1.5 tera, and copy the 250 gig onto the 1.5?

trust me, i'm a doctor

I'm guessing you wanted to add the 1.5TB HD to your system along with the rest, but then when it didn't fit, swap it with the 250?

If  you don't mind external drives, you could always just get a Hard Drive Enclosure for the 1.5TB.

Download CloneZilla, burn it as a bootable CD or DVD, boot into it, and simply clone your 250GB partition to the 1.5TB. Once you're done, you can extend the partition to grab the remaining space (or just create additional partitions as you see fit).

I made this for you!
