So, now we probably know why Final Fantasy X HD has been taking so long. It was revealed in Famitsu today that FFX HD is coming to the PS3 (which alleviates some recent concern that it'd been made Vita only) and is coming with an HD remaster of Final Fantasy X-2 as well. On top of that, both games are based on the International versions of each respective game. This means that Final Fantasy X includes the Expert Sphere Grids (For comparison, original vs. expert), the Dark Aeon boss fights, and the Penance superboss fight, while X-2 includes the Festival Goer and Psychic Dessspheres, Last Mission, and the ability to capture and use monsters and characters from FFX and X-2 while within the tower Last Mission takes place in.

On PS3, both games are packaged together on one Blu-Ray, while on Vita both games will be released separately. Having played FFX International (the only version released in PAL territories was the International version, and the JP International Version included that entire localisation in addition to the japanese text, so the whole game could be played in English), it's pretty awesome. I really loved the new spheregrids and boss fights, it really made the game worth playing again. I'm also really looking forward to playing FFX-2 International; that game's story may be ass, but the battle system is incredibly fun and I always wanted to try out the new dress spheres because they sounded like a lot of fun. Definitely looking forward to this more than ever now.

I've always wanted to play the international versions and I never did manage to finish FFX-2.  I'll be getting this.  I just hope it's $40-50 and not $60.

The King's orders are absolute

I'll hold out until it goes on sale someplace, but I'll probably be getting this sooner or later. It was the last main series Final Fantasy I actually enjoyed to some extent and I've felt like replaying it for a long time now. It's probably too much to hope for that they might do at least some touch ups to the voice work as well.

Let's Play Chrono Trigger
Let's Play The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
Let's Play Final Fantasy VI

Wasn't there something different about the ending in FFX:I as opposed to the FFX that NTSC got?

I agree.  When I first heard about FFX HD I really wanted it, but felt I couldn't justify the purchase since I still have FFX.  But if they give me 2 games for $40-$50 I might just go for it.  Plus I've only played X-2 once (well twice through, but back to back), so this would be a good reason to play through again.

Momoia =D

No release date yet?

I was worried that it WOULDN'T come to the PS Vita; that game has such a small library of games and it's such an awesome console ...only good game on it atm is Persona 4 Golden and I had bought it in the first place for the FF10 remake, glad they'll be bringing FFX-2 as well!

Well...
... I'll wait to get excited until we have a set pricepoint.  I don't have a lot of urge to play X-2 (though it's got probably my favorite battle system), but I was really looking forward to getting the X HD version.  Here's hoping having them packaged together doesn't drive up the price.

It would be a good value if my PS2 was non-functional. Both are long ass games, though FFX-2's non-combat portions are painful to get through and I REALLY hope they fixed the percentage mechanic to actually show tenths of a percent.

There's just too many goodies added into the game to not consider it good value lol you can always resell your PS2 copies, that's what I do each time a remake is announced =P unless the game is rare, of course, remakes are generally better and have more content

What a Tedious fight!

I may get this just so my boyfriend can play it. I'm not a huge fan of X or X-2, but he is and he doesn't have a PS3.

Gonna wait until I find out if the PS4 can play PS2 games before I even consider the  jump to buy a PS3 upgrade.

It cannot. Some to all PS2 games will eventually be available for streaming (at who knows what cost), but PS4 will have zero disc backwards compatability.
