Confusus said: When I was in elementary school in the 80's, we brought a bunch of gear from the Army Surplus store to school. We had canteens, helmets, binoculars, walkie-talkies. And toy guns too. We played war. We "shot" each other (unless there was snow on the ground, in which case we were using live ammo). There were "grenades," "missiles," etc. There were bases with pineneedle walls, empty spots for doors. We would take captives. Sometimes we would "capture" the girls and they would play house/make our fort cooler. I think about stuff like that, and then I think about the fact that the 80's are as long ago now as the 50's were when I was a kid in the 80's, and I feel kind of old.
