Yay!

Oh, and the first game will find it's way to Steam sometime during the winter.  A good excuse to get the game if you don't have a PSP or Vita.  Double yay!

Now to go and make sure I did finish the game, because I don't remember if I did finish it or not.  Well, even if I did, it's a perfect excuse to go and play it again.

Just saw this on facebook, HUZAH!  I really, really love that teams ability to make/translate dialogue.  At this point I had assumed I'd never get to touch chapter 2 so this is a big win.

I'm seriously surprised that they are still bringing the PSP version over though; isn't that thing dead already?  Do they think they'll recoup the $ in steam sales just to please the original adapters?  Either way, I'm fine since that's the version I'll play.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Yayifications!

I've wanted to play the original so much, after hearing that it's a series of games that builds upon regional conflicts woven together in the framework of a larger world. I keep thinking, "Could this be my panacea after yearning for Suikoden for so long?" News that SC is coming, and that both it and the original will be on Steam makes me a happy camper. Consider both of 'em bought already.

Apparently the Ys games did better than expected on Steam, and Falcom is the rare Japanese dev with native PC experience, so I'm hopeful for the audience for this game (and others) to grow via digital sales.

I can't wait to have this pair of TitS in my hands.

It's funny because boobs.

Also, apparently this isn't the same team that translated the first game but my hopes are still high since it was commisioned by the original group (at least that's the way it sounds...?)  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My understanding is that the project was so big they needed help, so they got another group to help.

They got the group who did Recettear, which I'm perfectly okay with - those guys did a bang up job with that game and Chantalise. But yeah, the first TitS was huge, and the next two only get bigger (heh heh), so I'm not surprised they had to outsource for some help/

Good news. I might give it a try. The first game had a great script and localization work but the story was 25 hours of something that could have been done in 2 or 3. Gonna probably take a wait and see and ask if anything actually happens in the story, but I"m glad at the news anyway for those waiting for it! It would be a different deal if all the games in the series were out - I woudln't mind a pace like that, but I really don't feel like playing an incomplete episode of a storyilne, so I'll wait til the entire series is out (hopefully) before giving this one a go.
