I just finished the last mission tonight, and it's probably by far the best GTA game I've played, totally shitting all over IV and even getting one over my nostalgiaboner for Vice City. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a game so much that I've played over 30 hours in five days, so good job Rockstar.

I absolutely love this game. As I've said before, the attention to detail they put into everything is astounding. GTA for me has never really been about the characters or missions, but the pure scope of the various cities and all the nuances. GTA isn't a game. It's like 100 games all rolled into one.

You didn't lose weapons and ammo if you died in IV. However, if you lost a mission in IV, you didn't recover the ammo used. I'm glad they corrected that in V.

I agree. I found the music for V to be the worst in the series. Vice CIty and San Andreas had the best soundtrack, but they took place in a time when music rocked. Today's music is shit. Pure fucking shit. You'll notice that the only music that kicks ass in this game are the tracks that came out before 2000. I don't necessarily think this is Rockstar's fault; music in general is just bad these days.

I've noticed this, too. I don't know why they sway back and forth when flying, even if you keep the stick completely straight. I understand there is actual wind speed variation and turbulence in the game which affects airplanes, but helicopters are a pain in the ass to fly and they really shouldn't be.

I dunno. Space 102.3 and Radio Mirror Park are both pretty good. Vinewood Boulevard isn't too bad either. Los Santos Rock and West Coast Classics are both pretty solid. I'd say the only real mediocre one is Non Stop Pop, although I think that's because it tries to pack three and a half decades of pop music into one station. I remember in older games I used to frantically switch to one of the two or three stations I liked every time I jack a car, but in GTA5 I've been pretty content with what's already playing.

Helicopters fly like absolute garbage. I'm still trying to finish flying school, and it's a pain in the ass.

On the topic of radio stations, when San Andreas came out I put together a playlist of heavy metal that would have been played by a station in 1992, and had a friend record some DJ bits ("The Black Album SUCKS! What the fuck next, Metallica? Going to cut your hair, you pussies?"), and stuck it all in the personal playlist spot as a pirate radio station.

Radio stations suck? Perhaps it's time to update this concept.

I am currently 50% into the game (which is shocking because I only had the game for a few days).

Yet I am having a fun time with this game probably the most fun I had with a Rockstar game this gen (note I didn't play GTAIV but did play Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire).

Also The Lonliest Robot in Great Britain was freaking hilarious and depressing at the same time. I love it. :)

Finished the main story this morning. It was a bit anticlimactic, but enjoyable. Now to fuck around until GTA Online hits on Tuesday.

Who are you using to fly the helicopter? Trevor shouldn't have an issue but Michael and Franklin have piss poor flying skills so it's hard to keep anything from swaying until you level them up a bit.
