Hey all, here comes a brand new Christmas series! Parasite Eve is a survival horror/RPG, with turn-based randomish battles. However, compared with Resident Evil/Silent Hill, this has great cutscenes. Like, almost Final Fantasy 8/9 quality cutscenes.

You'll find this game available for the Playstation One, as well as on the PS3 PSN store if you're American (and possibly some other regions...I haven't checked those).

The game was made by Squaresoft, so naturally I had no part in the creation of the game. Everything about the coming series (graphics, plot, soundtrack, characters, locations etc) were made by Squaresoft. All that will be mine is the commentary and actual gameplay.

I can't vouch for complete accuracy within that wiki, but it seems alright.

Also, here's the opening! It has to be one of my favourite video game openings from any game :). It's actually from before you choose to start a new game or anything; don't press anything when the Squaresoft logo shows up and you'll see the opening:

Just a warning: this may not end up being a daily LP this time around. I'll be uploading every other day at the very least however. This is just in case I get stuck or something though...and because Christmas is coming up.

Episode 1 - Drama At The Opera House

Hey all, welcome to the new let's play of Parasite Eve! We kick things off with the whole opening, intro to Aya Brea and the main villain of the game. Day 1 is relatively easy, so I'd say just stick with the club all the way through.

We also check out our first enemy: the rat. We'll be seeing more from them throughout this day. We also meet a freaky clown backstage and finally find our first key item: the theater key.

P.S. That parrot...should not be staying still while flapping. It unsettles me :(

Episode 2 - Eve's Piano Rehearsal

Hey all, here comes more of our Christmas Eve at the Opera House! We meet a new enemy type (the parrot), find another key (rehearsal key) and check out all of the other areas within the opera house.

As for the boss, Eve is easy enough so long as you stay in the middle of her green lasers and go in close with the club when she uses said attack. She'll go down pretty quick.

Episode 3 - Croc Down Under

Ok, I've given the Youtube brightness enhancements a go to see if they work properly. The sewers were so damn dark that nothing could be seen so...here goes nothing!

Anyways, here comes the last of day 1, which ends up being all about the sewers. A new enemy (the frog), a new spell (Scan) and a certain crocodile boss. For the croc boss, it's easy enough so long as you've leveled a tiiiny bit and that you go for the tail first. A gun is almost a must for this part, by the way.

Episode 4 - Klamp Is Lovely

Hey all, let's start day 2, shall we? Fusion begins with a very text heavy section, which is what this episodes involves completely.

We meet a few new characters but only two are particularly important to the plot: Ben (Daniel's son) and Dr Klamp (the arsehole researcher). I wonder if the police chief would be considered important too? Well, he's there either way.

We learn quite a bit about the mitochondria situation and have a special interview with the media (lol at Aya!). Also, we learn that Eve is gonna be having a concert at Central Park and that Ben and Daniel's ex-wife are gonna be there!

Episode 5 - Concert In The Woods

Welcome to the zoo/woods area! Central Park is pretty varied in the environment department; from the zoo, to the woods, to the mansion, to the concert stage, it keeps you interested right through.

The main thing to look out for is the poisonous enemies. You'll need those Dispel-P items to remove that, although you could learn Detox (poison removing magic) by the end of this day which makes things easier.

In terms of key items, there's only one that you need to find in day 2, and that's the zoo key. That's shown in the vid :)

Episode 6 - The Great Chariot

Hey all, here comes the last of day 2! There are 2 bosses within this episode: the worms (just go for broke with whatever weapon you prefer) and Eve on the horse and cart (avoid her moves the best you can and be ready with Heal 2).

We also end up hiding away now that the city has been evacuated!

We also find out more about Eve and the mitochondrial issue. Skipping some of the info shown in this vid will possibly leave you confused and all that, so it's worth a check imo.

Episode 8 - Ben's Sheeva

Hey everyone, here's the entirety of the day 3 dungeon minus the boss. The police station is easy to navigate, because we've been here a few times and generally know the way around. Still, there are loads of new rooms and a new floor or two so it's gonna be pretty fresh too.

Ben really should learn to stop running into danger. Good job Sheeva and the captain are around...

Oh yeah, there are two keys available around here that are entirely optional. The locations of them (Storage and Locker keys) are shown within along with where to use them.

Hey everyone, here's a short episode showing the boss of day 3. Sheeva is pretty tough if you haven't kept your equipment up to date etc, but keep with the healing and you should be fine. I'm not sure of the best strategy, but just shooting random heads always serves me fine :s.

Episode 10 - To The Sperm Bank!

Welcome to the hospital folks! We'll be spending all of day 4 here (pretty much) and it's quite possibly the most christmassy day in the game.

We all know that elevators are evil beings in horror games, so why we head to the basement in one is anyone's guess. To be fair, the stairs are blocked off, but still!

With the power outage, we need to explore the basement, which is fine. It's not too scary or anything. Not until we head to the autopsy room with the newly found autopsy key anyway...

Episode 11 - Policewoman? Electrician!

Hey all! Here comes a load of hospital stuff, including fixing the electrics with the 3rd and final fuse. This gets us back to the starting floor, where we save a nurse or two.

So! With that, there's a certain miniboss that may or may not really be a miniboss but it's the only time you see it so it may as well be a miniboss!The giant jelly thing just takes a few more shots than the regular jelly things. Look out for poison.

Yeah, that's the best name I could come up with lmao. Still, this episode has the last of the hospital and the last of day 4! As for the boss, it's best to stay far away and use a weapon with huge range. Not that I used that sort of common sense...

Episode 15 - The Museum Quiz Show

Hey all, here comes the start of the dinosaur-filled museum dungeon! The battles here are the toughest you'll find during the main game and are certainly gonna eat up your ammo (at least it does for me).

Check out the quiz machines for extra ammo and medicines. They're a massive help!

As for that scorpion...could it be considered a mini-boss? I'm not sure. Still, we take it on!

Episode 16 - Birth Of A Dinosaur

Continuing through the museum is simple enough, but look out for a new flying enemy as you progress! There's also the birth of something a wee bit more menacing...doesn't look like we have to worry about that quite yet though :s. The fact that it's born from melted down humans is pretty disturbing too.

We'll check out some more of the museum next time. In fact, we may just be able to check out the new menace in person...

Hey folks, here comes the last of the museum. You'd be absolutely shocked at how long it took me to figure out where to go after the dino bosses...but y'know, it's all cut and stuff.

Once we leave the museum, it seems that Eve is transforming so that she can spawn the ultimate being! Maybe we can stop that from happening?

Hey all, here comes the last of day 5! We head to the statue of liberty to finish off Eve...which kinda works out? The boss is incredibly tough. Thankfully, I get to show you Liberate, which is a pretty great spell after all (who knew?).

We also start day 6, but all we do is prepare for the last bosses, pretty much.
