Murasame
HALE YEAH

I remember a particularly intense battle with an FFSer that had me knocking out two consecutive pokémon with surf.

So, this being my first Pokemon game, I have to ask: is anyone having the problem of deciding what moves to keep and discard for your 'mons, especially in assigning field moves like Cut and Rock Smash? My OC nature is preventing me from putting those in on my main Pokemons but I know I can't delay not using them either as some items need those to be available. So far, I have assigned Cut to Honedge because you know, sword.
Just so you know, you can usually unlearn HM moves later on in most Pokemon games, so don't kick yourself if you did something like put Cut on your starter.  Also, this:

Those moves that I choose the Pokemons to not learn, I won't be able to get them back, will I?

Fuuko Sakurada
Momoia =D

In previous Pokémon games, you could talk to an NPC and they would make you relook at past moves in exchange for a Heart Scale, but I don't know if they've implemented that in X and Y yet

Yeah, you can. Madame Reminder is found in Dendemille Town and will teach your pokemon any move they could already have learned for the low low price of a single Heart Scale. These can be found by smashing rocks and fishing up Luvdisc.

I believe the Move Relearners are also good for teaching evolved pokemon certain "hidden" moves - for example, Togekiss doesn't learn any moves naturally by level up after evolving from Togetic, but can be taught Sky Attack, Extremespeed, Aura Sphere and Air Slash through Heart Scales.

Awesome. That's one fear I can put to rest then.

Oh man, the Pokemon Center theme during your birthday is just so beautiful. I was surprised when I entered it yesterday.

Okay, maybe someone here can answer me this. It's more of a curiousity, but it's been bugging me for a while.

In Poke-Amie, you can interact with your selected Pokemon, feeding it, petting it, etc. But I've seen screenshots of interactions that involve the 3DS' camera. Where/when do these come into play? I've been playing the game since I got in October (sporadically but still frequently enough) and I've never seen any prompts for  the camera based interactions in Poke-Amie.

So if you just stare at for a while it will start copying your facial expressions and then the game will start giving you messages like "give a big smile!" and so on and then the Pokemon is happy if you do those things.
