I haven't watched wrestling properly in ages, just matches on you tube. Mainly cause most of it's on the Sky Sports channels over here. I do read about it though via the good folks at The John Report.

So, who do you think is winning the rumble? I would like it if Daniel Bryan won it, but it's most likely going to be Batista or Brock Lensar.

Bigger question is who will be wrestling The Undertaker at Wrestlemania this year?

Great men aren't everywhere, just where it counts.

If you ever see me online playing Halo, join me please.

Im going with CM Punk. If he doesn't win, they will atleast have him make it to the end.

As far as Undertaker, I see Daniel Bryan taking him on, and perhaps winning.

WWE deserves what they got. The fans basically booed the entire event out of the building.

I have been watching the WWE for almost 18 years and I can honestly say this is the worst Royal Rumble I have ever seen, a slap in the face to the fans who made it clear who they wanted.

I could go on at length about my issues with the current WWE product.  As far as the Rumble went, it was plain as day who was winning with Batista returning to the company.  Frankly, as shooter already mentioned, WWE absolutely deserved what they got by the fans in Pittsburgh.  Ever since Daniel Bryan was taken out of the main event picture, the fans of been chanting for him even going as far as to hyjak portions of the show to express their desire to see him at the top (the last segment of the last Raw before the TLC ppv was the perfect example of this).  Instead, Vince McMahon and his aboslute devotion of pushing big men down to audience's throat is completely ignoring what his audience wants.

Now the Pittsburgh crowd showed what the thought about that by hyjacking portions of the Royal Rumble ppv.  They completely crapped all over the title match between Orton and Cena, chanting for Daniel Bryan.  Chanting Randy Savage.  Even going as far as to chant 'this match sucks' (which while extremely boring, it didn't suck and i think the crowd realized that cause that particular chant didn't last long).  Bottom line, the fans WANTED to see Daniel Bryan competing for the title, and expressed that and how they didn't want to see Cena and Orton for the hundreth time.  And then we get to the actual rumble event itself, where the fans started chanting for Daniel Bryan when the 19th entrant came out.  They desperately wanted to see Bryan come out and win the rumble to have his shot at the title, and when Mysterio came out at number 30 that's when the crowd completely turned on the event.  I felt bad for Mysterio because of the amount of booing he got simply because he wasn't Daniel Bryan whom the audience wants to see pushed but Vince McMahon just refuses to do so.  And once CM Punk got eliminated?  That's when the crowd realized what they were stuck with and completely turned on the even and the booing.  Sheamus, whom returned in his first match back since July, was getting booed.  Batista?  The guy Vince payed a lot of money to bring back and push?  Damn near booed out of the building.  The only person who didn't get booed at the end was Roman Reigns, who the crowd chose as the lesser of all evils and started cheering him to throw Batista out.  And let's not forget Reigns plays a bad guy on tv, but the crowd didn't want Batista winning so much the they were chanting for the bad guy to win!

The crowd sent a very obvious message directly to Vince McMahon.  They said, in essence, 'we are tired of the same fucking people at the top of the card and want to see you push new stars, not bring back old guys with man tits.'  The said thing is, Vince McMahon isn't going to change anything.  He has it cemented in his mind that he knows what the audience wants better than they do.  Bryan is over in a way I haven't seen since Rock and Austin, and I don't know whether Bryan can be a money drawer for the company being the top guy, but he deserves a chance at it considering the crowd reactions he gets.  WWE has done an absolutely horrid job building stars the last few years for the future.  They have a ton of young talent who the audience loves, but they don't give them big wins or let them get over on Cena, Orton, Sheamus, etc so the crowd gradually loses interest in them and then the WWE turns around and complains they have no breakout stars and continue to shove Orton and Cena down the audience's throat.  And now they're bringing in old guys cause they think that'll help.  Batista comes back after a 4 year absence out of shape (seriously, he was out of breath after running to the ring at the rumble).  The New Age Outlaws are the WWE tag team champions, and they haven't been relevant since 2001!  Billy Gunn is balding and wrestles with a shirt on.  I don't need to see that shit on my TV!

Its a sad state of affairs right now, and I am not in the least bit excited for Wrestlemania this year.  The only thing I am excited for is the WWE Network.  That has some great potential, and I'll probably be getting it just for the library of past ppvs from WCW and ECW.  I know dirtsheets get a bad rap, and I agree with people on them to an extent though I do pay attention to one because they are usually pretty reliable.  And if they are to be believed, the current top matches for Wrestlemania are as follows:

Batista vs Orton for WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker
CM Punk vs Triple H
John Cena vs Bray Wyatt
Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus

Take those matches with a grain of salt, but if they are true there is nothing in that lineup that excites me.  I've seen Daniel Bryan and Sheamus wrestle before, and from a technical standpoint it'll be a good match so long as they don't repeat the 18 second bullshit from 2 Wrestlemanias ago.  But the point is everyone has seen it before.  John Cena vs Bray Wyatt?  I could write a whole seperate post of this length on my thoughts of John Cena.  Suffice to say he is shoved down people's throats and truly is the Superman of WWE and the Hulk Hogan of this generation, and I don't mean that in a good way.  It's way too soon for the Bray Wyatt character, whom I'm a big fan of, to tangle with Cena.  And Cena has a horrible track record of putting over up and coming talent.  His fued with the Nexus and Wade Barrett?  Made both seem like a joke.  His fued with Dolph Ziggler?  I don't think Dolph won once the whole time except their first match.  So that match worries me, especially since Cena has to rely on his opponent to make him look really good, and I don't know if Bray Wyatt can do that.  CM Punk and Triple H?  Also have seen that match already.  Punk is an awesome performer, and frankly deserves to win because of the meandering booking of him since his lost the WWE title last year.  I hope he can rouse a good match out of Triple H, because at this point in time Triple H can't seem to have a really good match unless its inside of hell in a cell.  He's another guy who can have a decent match, but it won't be a great match unless the other guy can bring it out of him.  Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker?  This match should be good and is honestly the only once I have any interest in.  Lesnar is the only guy in WWE right now that seems like he's there just to hurt somebody, and Lesnar is agood worker who is not afraid to take some bumps.  And The Undertaker damn near always delivers at Wrestlemania, especially at this point in his career.  So I expect a good match out of these two.  Orton and Batista?  I want to avoid that like the plague.  Orton is a good worker, but needs someone in the ring with him that he has good chemistry with to have a really good match.  Based on their past matches, Batista is NOT that guy and that was when Batista was in wrestling shape.  At the moment, he is most definitely not in wrestling shape.  I don't expect that to be good in any way.

So, yeah, I love watching wrestling.  But I think its plain to see I get pissed off more than I get entertained.

Fans booed the heck out of Cena and Orton like there was no tomorrow.

Let's face it Cena and Orton are talented guys but they have been on Top for 9 years already. Heck Cena has been in the main event picture for 9 years, his character has never changed and it's gotten to the point where it's so stale people just don't care about Cena (or Orton for that matter).

To put in numbers Hulkamania began on 1984 and ended at 1992 when he left the company (kind of he came back early 93), Hogan had 8 years on Top that a year less than Cena. And by 1991 and 1992 fans were starting to turn on Hogan.

Cena is not nearly as popular as Hogan in his prime and even so Cena always gets a mixed reaction from the crowd and the fact that he's been the Top guy for 9 years it's no wonder he got the reaction he got at the Rumble. Unlike the ususal reaction where fans either cheered or boo'ed him fans just massacred Cena in the event.

Oh, I agree completely about Cena.  Problem is that despite whatever is said on tv, John Cena is the face of that company and sells the most merchandise out of everyone (it also helps that it seems that he has a new shirt to buy every month but I digress).  Because of that fact, one way or another John Cena will always be at the top of near the top of the card.  And that's not good for WWE because if Cena is out due to injury they have no one they can shift into his spot because they haven't built up any new stars.  Basically the WWE audience is conditioned to believe that John Cena is damn near unbeatable in a singles match unless there is some outside interference.  Last time Cena lost cleanly 1on1 on ppv?  August 2013 at Summerslam.  Before that his last 1on1 ppv loss was in November of 2012.

I give Cena a lot of credit in that the man is commited to showing up at every possible event he can be at.  Hell, he constantly comes back early from injuries to entertain his fans.  As ill advised as that is, its a credit to his desire to entertain and I can't fault him for that.  Not to mention the numerous wishes he grants through make a wish...the man is a machine.  But as far as that company goes, he needs to realize he is in a great spot to make new stars but he is more content to just sit back and be the top guy.  So no matter how commited John Cena the person is, John Cena the wrestler is at this point a cancer in the main event picture.

The WWE Brass would probably argue that they gave Bryan a Chance at the top (At least fighting for the main title) and it ratings took a tumble. This is stupid, because ratings didn't fall because Bryan was at the top, they fell because Cena wasn't on the show, and that the entire storyline with Bryan Vs Orton was booked really poorly.

As mentioned above Cena as been at the top for the last 9 years. With the way he's been booked, the WWE have essentially programmed an entire generation of fans to believe that if Cena is not, then the show means shit. Hell he was main eventing over the WWE champion at one point during Punk's run. So of course the WWE is going to get a rating drop everytime he's not there. They need to learn to ride through it, and let the people who switched off because of Cena come back.

Honestly, they pretty much have negotiations every year around this time.  Sting only signs 1 year deals with TNA which always expire around this time of year which is why rumors of him signing pop up.  Honestly though, I think if Sting is smart he'll go ahead and sign this time around.

The big rumor has always been that he had issues with the WWE product being a little too racy, and him being a Christian never felt comfortable going there.  Nowadays, with WWE being so heavy on the PG element of their product plus the fact that there are several superstar who come in either for a set amount of dates or a block of time before taking time off (Lesnar, RVD, Jericho) plus the fact that WWE is launcing their network and would love to have Sting who is pretty much synonymous with WCW be the face of that part of the programming, this year might be the best shot we have of Sting signing.

Personally, I think Sting should go ahead and sign.  I think he's around his mid fifties, and while he's probably collecting a nice paycheck from TNA, I think he could suck it up for a schedule like Lesnar or RVD has for probably more than what he's making in TNA.  Not to mention he'd probably make some money off of interviews for the WWE Network and royalties from any inevitable dvds WWE would release since they own the WCW video library.

It's a win/win for everyone involved so long as they can hash out the details.

The funny thing is when they took out Bryan of the main event and Cena returned PPV numbers continued to drop. Well for Survivor Series at least (no numbers on TLC yet), I find it strange that the WWE is blaming Bryan for the ratings and PPV buys and not Triple H or Randy Orton, who were also part of the feud.

I love Punk but I am dissapointed in him for walking out I am sure his fustrations are justified (the WWE has been pretty crappy since Summer Slam) but just like when Austin walked out it's an unprofessional thing to do. In the end he's only human so I guess his fustrations finally got to him.

That said it sucks to see him go and I hope he comes back sooner than later. w/o Punk the WWE roster just got a lot more barren and gives me even less of a reason to watch the WWE.

Well....shit.  It's no secret that Punk is my favorite on the roster as one could tell from my avatar and name, but I agree that its an unprofessional thing to do.  After watching his dvd, Punk strikes me as a very goal oriented guy and someone who gets very annoyed very quickly being stuck in angles and situations which have no real purpose so I can't say that I'm too surprised at him walking out.  Also its been rumored that he's been wrestling injured since SummerSlam, so that may have factored into it.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he's still under contract with WWE until July.  So it'll be interesting to see if he pops back up after cooling down or if he'll ask to be let out of his contract early (which I don't think WWE would do) or if he'll just sit at home until his contract expires.

I know how they work

I used to be obssesed with the WWE (back then it was the WWF) but then I stopped watching.  The last thing I recall happening was Undertaker and Big Show being tag team partners.  Or Undertaker being a biker guy.  Whichever of those was the latest.

Is it worth trying out again now?
