The Nu-Daario thing is still odd to me, I wish actors would just stick with a show, especially when it's big and awesome like GoT. Ah well, the latest mountian looks good at least and the aforementioned guy seems like a decent replacement.

Bronn being Jaime's sparring partner makes sense, especially since I read awhile back that Bronn had a "fight" scene in the upcoming season. That's probably it then.

Oh I completely forgot they recast Daario. Good move, the previous actor had such an annoying face.

Yikes and away!

I love all those promo photos... except Oberyn's. Cause yeah, newDaario looks more like the Red Viper than the Red Viper does.

GRRM wrote episode 2. I'm so very excited~

In truth, he looked more the way I imagined Oberyn on the poster but I just saw some pics of him in costume and he looks just as non-descript and bland as all the other westerosis (and ...kinda looks like a Nomura reject. BELTS!)
I like this show but the character/costume design of the male characters is really fucking boring. Which is a shame because the women all have very distinct looks/costumes.

That's the new Daario, not Oberyn.

Edit: My bad, misunderstood.

This'll be the first season I've watched having now read all the book which will certainly put a different slant on things.  Overall when they've deviatedrom the books its worked really well (Tywin-Arya relationship in season 2).  The main problem as always is trying to cover the amount of material and depth of the books, it's inevitable a lot is missed out I suppose.

We'll be thankful for that come books 4 and 5.

There's a clip of new Daario and Grey Worm out now, he seems like he'll be a good fit.

Hopefully he'll make Daario not suck so much.

I've seen the new Daario on Treme, another HBO series. I wasn't a big fan of his character most of the time but I liked the acting just fine.

Even the old Daario was miles better than book Daario, which has usually been the case for the characters I didn't care for much in the books.

Show!Daario benefits from us not seeing him from Dany's perspective*.  The worst thing about Book!Daario is how Dany sees him, and how GRRM portrays it**.

*Also from not being a total fucking weirdo.
**There's a whole... massive, horrifying can of worms here about gender portrayal in ASOIAF and the way GRRM writes women and writes about women... but, I'm not going to touch it with a ten foot quivering pink mast, at least not any moreso than I already have.

Danny in the books is also 14/15 when she meets Daario... yeah, remember your hormones at 15? Daario is far from my favorite, but I totally get why he's written the way he is (and how blah it is from Dany's perspective). Teenage girl wants the baddie.

Less than two weeks!

Ehh, the deviations have been a mixed bag, at best. For every Tywin-Arya relationship there's a real headscratcher, sometimes two even.
