apparently the streak ending was the plan all along ... and only a handful of people knew about. It didn't even include the referee, he thought Taker was going to win, which actually is obvious he looked shocked when he made the three count (apparently the backstage rule is if the wrestler doesn't get up make the three count regardless).

As for a young guy ending the streak I believe there were talks that Ted Debiase Jr could be the one to do it since they had huge plans for him at the time. His WWE career didn't work out so it goes to show that's there's too many uncertanties if you are going to have the young prospect to be the one that ends the streak, you are still banking if he will turn out the way you expect him too but if not you just wasted away the one in a lifetime chance for someone to end Taker's streak.

Lesnar ending the streak does add to his repertoire that he was the one that was able to do it. It just makes Lesnar even more credible than he already is. Which something he needed since he returned to the WWE after they decided Cena should go over Lesnar in his return match (WTF right?).

This also means that win or lose whoever goes up againts Lesnar helps them in their career. Let's say if Cesaro has a feud with Lesnar (recently rumored), if Cesaro loses but has a solid compeattive match it doesn't hurt Cesaro because he goes up with someone with the same calibre as Lesnar (the former UFC Champion, and the one to end Taker's streak). On the other if Cesaro does beat Lesnar in a match, the added credientials of Lesnar can also will also rub on Cesaro.

I can understand why some people completely hate the idea of The Undertaker's streak being broken, let alone Brock Lesnar being the one to do it.  I was initially very leary of the idea, but then the idea of it elevating both Lesnar's status and Paul Heyman's status started sinking in.  Like Shooter mentioned, anyone who faces Lesnar is going to get a rub as long as they put up a good fight whether they win or lose.  And anyone associated with Paul Heyman will get a rub since he's the one associated  with the guy who broke the streak.

Also, the streak being broken takes a lot of stress of The Undertaker if he decides to keep wrestling.  Let's face it, since his first match with Shawn Michaels his matches at Wrestlemania were getting harder and harder for him to recover from because they were getting more brutal with each passing one.  It may have only been for one night, but the man put his near 50 year old body through hell to make sure the crowd was entertained since his match was one of the big draws.  Now that he's finally lost, there exists a possibilty he could lose again and that allows his matches to be more like his older traditional Wrestlemanis matches.

As a side note, I'm hoping so bad for a Lesnar & Cesaro program.  I eagerly anticipate watching the two of them beat the crap out of each other.

Also, glad to see some of the younger talents from NXT finally coming up to the main roster.  Should be interesting to see how Bo Dallas and Adam Rose's characters translate to the main shows.  And it seems that I'm going to get my wish at seeing an AJ Lee and Paige feud.

Did anyone catch Extreme Rules last night? The Evolution/Shield match was great.

I like to think that Bryan and Kane came up with the forklift/table on fire stuff after finding out what Seth Rollins had planned:

"He's jumping from where?" God damn it, how are we supposed to top that?"

Extreme Rules was a decent show.  The triple threat was good, and RVD took a sick bump to the trash can that looked like it legit cut him open.  The handicapped match was just meh.  They're trying to push Rusev as a monster, but the crowd just aren't into him.

I'm so happy Wade Barrett is wrestling again.  Just him on the podium was pure torture, but now his little 30 second schtick before his matches is just perfect.  Hell, he's supposed to be a heel but the crowd is totally into him just like they are with Cesaro.

Evolution and The Shield really tore the house down.   Ambrose and Rollins both did some crazy stunts, but good God did Rollins just turn it up to 11 this match.  Props to him for doing the jump, and props to Ambrose, Orton, and H for taking the falling Rollins missle bump.  The Shield have a good chance of being this generation's 4 Horsemen if they keep getting booked right.

Daniel Bryan and Kane had a fun little back and forth brawl.  Nice to see the forklift make a reappearance in a WWE match after what I think is a helluva long time, as well as the flaming table which made a reappearance after being inactive since Wrestlemania 22 (I think).

Paige vs Tamina was ok.  Nothing special, but that's how WWE usually treats the Diva division.

John Cena vs Bray Wyatt....this is such a fine example of why so many people boo John Cena.  Yes, Bray Wyatt won the match but he didn't look strong at all doing it.  He basically took out all 3 members of the Wyatt family, and was only defeated when he got distracted by a little kid with a digitally synthasized voice.  For fucks sake.  I get the fact that he is the main merchandise seller and I get the fact that WWE will never turn that man heel, but that doesn't mean he can't take a clean loss now and again to put someone over.  Hell, he was on Steve Austin's podcast saying he's tired of being the guy with the company on his shoulders and wants some of the new talents to get over so he doesn't have to be so prominently featured.  I get the fact that he does whatever the company asks him to do, but if you want the new talents to get over you should maybe just possibly tell the company to stop booking you like you are a real life superhero.  I can't imagine Vince just shrugging off the suggestion of his biggest merchandise seller and the face of the company if John actually wanted to stop getting booked that way.

Overall, solid B show.  Maybe B-

*Edit*
Just saw the tribute video.  I remember reading about and watching a video of Bryan and Kane visiting little Connor last year (which they showed a clip of in the tribute).  Kudo's to WWE for doing so much for the little guy, and I think its obvious how much he impacted some of the people in the company for them to make the video.  It's such a damn shame he lost his battle with cancer, but at least he's in what I believe to be a better place and free of pain.

I'd like to say I'm excited about the Battlegrounds main event, but since signs point to a Cena/Lesnar Summerslam main event, I'm bracing for more cringeworthy CENAWINSLOL tonight :(

I very, very much don't want Cena vs Lesnar at Summerslam to be for the title.  The match itself is all but confirmed to happen unless someone gets injured, but it really doesn't need to be for the title.  For one thing, Lesnar's contracted for only a certain amount of appearances a year.  So unless WWE shelled out more money for more dates, I don't want the possibility of him winning the title and only showing up with it every once and a while a la The Rock when he was champ in 2013.

The other thing is that John Cena shouldn't keep the title because he's going to be filming his part in a new Judd Apatow movie staring tomorrow.  So he'll actually be flying out tomorrow morning meaning he won't be at Raw tomorrow night.  So as of right now, we don't know how many Raw's Cena is going to miss due to filming the movie so in my mind he shouldn't be champion if he's going to miss several dates.

They should find a way to take the title off of Cena tonight, whether it be Roman Reigns winning it or Seth Rollins cashing in money in the bank and winning it.  We'll see if that actually happens.

So much wasted talent.  WWE has a really talented roster right now but can't write for them worth a damn.

It's no wonder Cena has 15 world championships to his name, and it's got little to do with his actual in-ring abillity.  It's the fact that they haven't pushed anyone else as face of the company in the past 10 years, or at least not as hard as Cena.  Any time they need a go-to guy to hot shot the title onto, it's always been Cena even if they had more deserving guys as they do now.

I can understand protecting your investments, as well as not wanting to put the title on somebody too soon only to have all their momentum leak out like a stuck balloon.  But if you've got good writers who can make a story and prevent someone new from losing steam as champ that quickly, you have no worries.  Problem is that they don't.

I had heard they were going to push Cesaro but wanted to wait until after Reign's push had settled in as face of the company.  And I'm actually ok with that.  I feel Cesaro is more deserving than Reigns, but I'm totally fine with Roman Reigns as the top face.  He's not the most technical but he's over as fuck and has got some good qualities for a power wrestler.  He's never really had me bored during any of his matches and that's a good thing from someone with a limited move set like him.

It's just really too bad that Daniel Bryan got hurt, because he had Cena comfortably and decisively replaced as the top guy.  Then again, maybe this injury is a blessing in disguise.  The fans obviously haven't forgotten him, and when he comes back it has the potential to be crazy and he'll be back in the hunt for the title.  Just hope it isn't too long from now.

I know how they work

I started watching on and off again, and so far I think my favorite wrestler (or "superstar") right now is Seth Rollins.  I don't really care about the storyline, but I'm always entertained when he's in the ring.

The worst aspect, so far, has been all the Stephanie McMahon and the Divas nonsense.  I can't believe Brie Bella still has a job.  She's HORRIBLE on the mic, and I've yet to see her do anything interesting in the ring.

As a fan of women wrestling I can say that with the exception of AJ, Paige, Natalia and Emma none of the divas on the main roster are all that talented in the ring.  If you want decent women wrestling in WWE, try to catch NXT.  That's where all the good female wrestling is, probably cause Vince doesn't pay attention to it.  Its clear Vince has never really given a shit whether the Divas can actually wrestle or not,  For fucks sake, how a wrestling company has Sara Del Rey under contract and NOT have her actively wrestle is a mystery to me.

As a side note, I swear if Vince McMahon manages to screw up KENTA I will find some way to kick him in the balls.

An example of some damn fine wrestling.  Aslo, if anyone ever wondered where CM Punk got the go to sleep from, it was KENTA.
