Fuck Shit Stack.

I just bought one. Well technically it was free cause I had a lot of gift cards. I've been dying to play Mario Kart 8, and of course want the upcoming smash bros game.
I haven't hooked it up yet but I just want to get peoples opinions on it so far?

I love mine and I think it is the best console of this generation.  I'm sure tons of people would disagree with that, but I think it's a solid media center device, and most of the games that are only XBox/PS4 games are also available on PC or of a very narrow genre range, whereas the Wii U has a bit more diverse offering.

Also: PS4 and XBox One are both neglecting couch multiplayer a bit in favour of online multiplayer, and to me that's not okay.  I've played Titanfall with friends, and I've played Mario 3D World with friends and the latter is the one we had more fun with.  Towerfall was technically the biggest hit, but you know, Mario was good too =)

I just got mine last week. Bought a $200 refurb straight from Nintendo and got Mario Kart 8, which I immediately registered with club Nintendo to get a free digital download (ended July 31st) of Windwaker HD. Also Picked up New Super Mario Bros U and have decided to pick up a few Wii games I missed out on after I sold mine - Metroid Prime Trilogy and The Last Story.

I really love the console. The gamepad is amazing. Every console should have a tablet gamepad like this. Using it with Boost Mode in NSMBU gives my 3 - almost 4 year old daughter a fighting chance to get through levels since I can make platforms and knock back enemies. She loves playing it - it's her first game not on iPad. I love being able to control my TV and satellite dish reciever straight from the gamepad. One less remote to worry about when I'm playing Wii U. I already enjoyed Remote Play on my Vita for PS4 but having it so seamlessly integrated with the console is fantastic, plus the gamepad is so much nicer to hold than a Vita.

It's even got my non-gamer wife hooked with NSMBU and Mario Kart. We have a lot of fun playing with and in front of our daughter. She loves to watch. I honestly picked it up because I was getting that Nintendo itch, but mostly because my daughter was getting into Mario lately thanks to seeing commericals and getting a few Mario toys.

My complaints so far: The amount of games not available on Wii U virtual console. Yeah its got some big games like Earthbound and Super Metroid and Mario & Lugi Superstar etc etc. but there is pleny I want not on there. I could buy them on the Wii mode Wii Shop channel, but I've got $25 in existing eShop credit that doesn't seem usable on the Wii Shop channel, so I'd have to buy an eShop card and use it for Wii Shop points or directly buy Wii Shop points. I have enough coins to pick up Paper Mario from club Nintendo, but it's only available if I boot into Wii Mode. Also, when playing anything in Wii Mode you have to use either remote and nunchuck or have a classic controller (NOT A WII U PRO CONTROLLER). I really wish the stuff in Wii Mode just worked with the gamepad. Especially when you are running Wii games on the gamepad alone and not TV.

Other than that, really enjoyed these last few days with it.

I don't play mine much, but the great thing about it is I can see watch TV while my son plays Mario on the gamepad.  Love that!

I have one, it's fine as a device that let me get rid of my original Wii (as it plays both Wii U and Wii games). I've also enjoyed the HD New Super Mario Bros games, as well as Donkey Kong.

I definitely don't use it a lot, but I enjoy what I do get for it.

One thing that made me pick one up is the possibility of Fatal Frame 5 coming out here.
I know we didn't get Fatal Frame 4 here. Althought I bought a Japanese copy of it hacked my wii to play foreign games and used the patch to translate it. It really was one of the best games I played last gen. I hope I won't have to do that again with FF5

I personally love my Wii U. I may not use it as much as the PS3, because of the game library, but it's definitely the most fun console to play in terms of hardware and what software it does have.

The GBA library on it now for virtual console is getting impressive too. Especially since you can go a bit portable with it.

My most recent 3 let's plays:

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - Link (Din, Onox, Maku...I'm so funny)
Killer7 (Completed) - Link
Luigi's Mansion (Completed!) - Link

I'll get mine once Xenoblade Wii U or Smash comes out, whichever comes first.

I really enjoy mine a lot more than I expected to.  As someone who shares a bedroom with his kids, it's nice to be able to swap to off-screen play and go in the other room without having to move all the fucking equipment.

Got one towards the beginning of the year, but I should have probably waited until next year when they'll have a really good lineup of strong titles.

Mario 3D World is probably the best co-op game I've played so far with some good replay value as well, and Wind Waker HD is just the thing for a Zelda fan whose favorite console Zelda game is WW.  Game & Wario is the only other Wii U title I own, and it's very enjoyable and the gamepad controls work very well with it and aren't annoying like I thought they'd be.  I never was much of a fan of how the Wii relied so much on motion controls, so it's good to see Wii U doesn't overdo it.

There are a few good titles out now, like Tropical Freeze, Rayman, Super Mario Bros U, Super Luigi U, and Monster Hunter, and with Hyrule Warriors coming up soon, as well as Smash U and interestingly unique titles like Mario Maker and Captain Toad coming out next year, it'll eventually be a very good investment.

I would have been forced to buy one once Zelda U came out anyway.  There's almost no way I can miss owning the newest Zelda game and I'm not at all ashamed to say it :)

The Wii U might as well be the Wii Z.  Between backwards compatability and re-releases, you can play Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword (and probably some of the 2D ones as well, I honestly don't know), plus Zelda U and--much sooner--Hyrule Warriors on the way.

I think they have Majora's Mask on the eShop, so if they also have OOT that means you can play every Zelda game ever made on it.

Wow, I never thought about that.

Sort of related, but since they announced the REmake remake for next year, all the numberd Resident Evil games will be on one console as well.  I would love it if they released the Outbreak games on PSN and re-opened the online multiplayer with it.

The RE-make remake won't be on Wii U, though, unless they chaged their stance--

However, I think the original version is on the eShop, so it's available.  Just not the upgraded pretty pretty HD version that's coming.
