Just ordered the PS4 version from Amazon for $45.  Can't wait to play it.

I came in here specifically to post that it's on sale on Amazon today so that all you non-broke people can take advantage of Cyber Monday, unlike me.

I'm at the point now I could finish off the story (things seem to be coming to a head), or keep exploring. Even though I'm just over 80 hours in I've barely touched three areas. I know you can keep playing after the story ends, but I'd kind of like to hammer through more side quests. Despite the bugsm and there are A LOT of them, this is a fantastic game.

I am having a legitimately difficult time deciding between a dwarf and a qunari.  Oh geez.

And then there's the question of which accent to use. I restarted once or twice to test the accents out for my human warrior. I've settled on the American for dwarves and qunari, Brit for human and elves. I think.

Okay so I'm perfectly happy just wandering around in the wilderness.  This game is super overwhelming but I'm okay just... walking around in the woods, fightin' suckers.

I went Dwarf Warrior.  She has a kind of face that makes her look young and naieve, out of her depth and mistrustful.  It was a pretty serendipitous choice because people keep calling her the Herald and she's like "I don't know man, I just don't know."  Being Dwarf she used to be a smuggler for the Carta, so she isn't necessarily battle-hardened.  She picked up a sword and shield because it was handy, and because that's what Cassandra was doing and it seemed like it was working.  She's completely overwhelmed by this whole Inquisition thing...

... which made it all the funnier when she used her shield-charge attack and plowed into three guys who were instantly* turned into a red smear on the ground.

*(Pretty sure they bugged out and despawned as soon as she hit them.  Either that or she one-shot all three of them, like getting run over by a tiny ginger Metro bus.)

^Awesome.

I just hit 100 hours in my game, finished the story (meh), and did a ton of side quests in areas I'd barely explored before like Emprise du Lion and Hissing Wastes.

I still don't have a good handle on a few things, but I'll be starting a new game sometime this week on hard with a female elf. I'm leaning toward a mage, and then go dwarven rogue for the top difficulty level.

I am torn between my desire to explore the seven zillion new zones I've opened up, and my desire to hang out with [spoiler redacted] and get on with the damn plot.

Stumbled on the Hinterlands dragon.  Sera and Viv got set on fire and knocked down fairly early on.  I kept giving Iron Bull orders to go get them up but he'd run over there, stop next to their bodies, then run back to the dragon.  This led to him catching several fireballs with his face.  So it was up to just me!  Tiny little Mal Cadash, running around under the big mean dragon for half an hour (in real time), doing my shitty sword-and-shield damage and desperately keeping my GUARD up (the litle adds that started to show up made this really easy).

Then afterwards we went to Redcliffe:
Some guy, possibly in a note:  "Herald, you're in danger!"
Herald Mal Cadash, probably still soaking in steaming dragon blood:  "MOTHERFUCKER I AM THE DANGER."

Also fun, everyone keeps telling me about how Hawke killed the guy.  She killed the guy!  She says so herself!  And I'm like, I've played DAII a bunch of times and I don't remember.... oh, your father's blood?  It's the goddamn DLC mission I didn't get, isn't it?  It is.  That's what I get for answering DA Keep questions I had no idea about.

I finished it just after 80 hours. After I got Knight Enchanter, the game was cake. I literally couldn't be killed. Anyway, the game is very good. Nearly as good as Origins for me. The things that ultimately killed it for me were no tactics screen for AI and no ability wheel. I mean, come on, it's the third game in the series and you can't even support the same features you did on the other two games?

The new tactics screen is a joke, really. You can have your people set only a couple different ways. Try as I might, I couldn't get Varric to stay away from enemies, being an ARCHER, after all! He would always charge in with the rest of the party and try to shoot things in the face. He would always die every battle. I ended up using Cass and Blackwall, the sword and shield Warriors, because they were the only ones that would last.

Also, eliminating the ability wheel was a huge misstep. You're limited to using the action buttons only. Really? I wanted to be a badass elementalist with access to a whole book of spells, but you only give me a page. Ultimately, I gave up on being a spellcaster, because this game only wants you to be a one trick poney.

Other than that, I did enjoy the story and the crafting was pretty cool. The characters were interesting and had good backstories. I didn't like the MMO fetch quests, which comprised about half of the gameplay. The main quest was pretty short, too. It took about 15 - 20 hours MAX. The problem is that the game pads itself out by requiring "power points" for the main missions. Guess where you get those? That's right - side questing. They're not all that bad, but it just takes forever.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with it. It's not the best game in the series, but it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Now excuse me while I go back to playing Origins for the 8th time. ^^

I SHOULD have this under the tree.  There are 5 game-shaped presents there, and I asked for 5 games (that are currently out).  Unless my husband went off-script.  Which he sometimes does, to very little success...

I'm going to try SCIENCE!

I just got it yesterday as my first official game for my PS4. I had to restart the character creator after A: accidentally skipping naming and B: finding my eyes looked HIDEOUS. Also spent an INORDINATE amount of time in DA: Keep setting up a world state at a friend's insistence. I'm glad they made it a feature but it took forever because they offer no context and I had to keep checking DA Wiki to see what the hell was going on.

Meta plot fun goodness with Morrigan!

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Me, the Player:  "Give Morrigan all the power!  Give her the well!  I spent the entirety of this world's DAO manipulating events so she could have a creepy god baby with Alistair, what was the point if we don't give her THE POWA..."
Inquisitor Cadash:  "I dunno, boss.  Cassandra doesn't seem to trust her with it, and frankly I can see where she's coming from.  I mean, back at the fancy party Leliana didn't seem like she liked Morrigan much..."
Me:  "But, it's Morrigan!  She's a real bitch, but she usually has the world's best interests at heart."
Inq:  "How am I supposed to know that?  I mean, she helped us once, and then she came along here, and she's been wrong a bunch today and--I mean, look at her, boss. You're telling me all that dark make-up and sexy black leather doesn't scream 'VILLAIN' to you?  And she sounds like she wants to take over the world herself.  You can't deny it."
Me:  "I... see your point.  Too bad, though.  I'm vetoing your opinion because of plot reasons."

INQUISITOR CADASH GREATLY DISAPPROVES

Finished it a few days ago.  Grest game if you ignore all crafting, and yes - you can ignore all crafting.

Ignore all crafting.
