Lets hope they get with the 21st century and have a few save points in the dungeons, other than that i'm excited!

And Auto Saving and saving anywhere as well. Playing Ico now on the Ico Collection and realized how archaic save points are in general.

Though the argument for Persna 5 is that it reduces the challenge and lessens the risk of going to the next floor.

I doubt it. Persona 3 and 4 are constructed in a manner where save points inside of the dungeons both break the flow of the game and are somewhat irrelevent - it's really not that hard or time consuming to teleport back out to the entrence, save, and then return to the floor you were on. Not any more so than it would be to backtrack to in dungeon save points.

That said, even with the ability to go back to the main floor to save up and heal, the games were hard as hell if you didn't know what you were doing.

And even then, it only took one bad turn to ruin your day.

That's the point. If it doesn't add challenge and it's not hard, why add the tedium?

that's also something someone would post on a pre 2000 message forum.  I know it's not you saying it, but if that's the mentality the developers are using, I thought we were past this. As if there's no other way to balance the challenge out of a video game than to prevent you from saving your progress. It just boggles me that they are skilled enough to make a game so good but fail so hard at one aspect that is so simple. But I really don't think they do it for challenge...it's easy enough challenge wise to go back to the first floor and save, I just think it's pointless to make gamers waste their time doing something repetitive in this day and age, especially when the rest of the game is so polished, it feels so out of place to have an archaic element in there.

All I can say is it couldn't come soon enough.  This is going to be a painful year and a half.

It's been almost a year since i made that post above.  Unfortunately, the painful wait I mentioned will have to be extended a bit more, since it looks like Persona 5's release date has been pushed for next year.

And yet, we still know so little about the game.

We know the main character will not have a name and all the women will be skinny meat puppets who are helpless until a man comes along to give them advice and eventually romance them en masse.

Same as the other ones.

I've gone a while without getting a new console system since the PS2, so is it wrong to hope I won't want to play this?

Cult of Personality
Insert witty remark here.

It'll be this game and Uncharted 4 that makes me end up getting a PS4.  Damnit.

It's coming out on PS3 too, but... yeah, this trailer is what pushed me from the "maybe I'll get one with my tax return" to "going to get one with my tax return despite there currently being nearly zero games I'm interested in that I don't already own".

Nelfichu
I've been there, hombre.

Can someone give me the rundown on Persona? I tried Persona 3 a few weeks ago on the PSP, and I thought it was just a lot of going to school/talking at school, then going to the dorms/talking at the dorms, sleeping, then doing it all again. Should I keep playing? Should I be starting with a different Persona?
