Anyone familiar with the comic arc that it is based on? I'm anticipating this, and would like to get some more back story for what's going on. The last Marvel movie I watched was the first Avengers, and I really enjoyed it.

The closest comic counterpart to this movie is probably Ultron Unlimited. Just a guess since I don't know the plot of the movie. But it was the best Ultron story pretty much, and gave us a badass Thor moment/quote that I BET we'll see in the movie

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Ultron...we would have words with thee...

It was written by Kurt Busiek I think around 2000. It wasn't long after the Avengers were re-rebooted after the whole Onslaught/Heroes Reborn debacle. One of my favorite periods of Avengers.

If you ignore absolutely everything but Johnny, the FF movies are good! ...yeah that's all I got.

I tried to watch them once, and the fact that Captain America keeps setting himself on fire really took me out of it.

(Also I honestly think it's virtually impossible to make Reed's powers work in a motion media, particularly live action.  It just always looks dumb.  It's a power set that works really well on the page and nowhere else.

Also, canonically*, it sounds like baloons rubbing together.)

(*I think?)

Still...Chris Evans looked so much better in those movies before he bulked up for Cap. Worth a watch for that alone!

Have my tickets for Sunday afternoon.  Would have gone Saturday but the theater we go to has these awesome seats on the side just on their own with tons of space, no one in front, and they recline.  So we wanted to wait for those.

But...now I don't want to wait!!  I'm CONSIDERING also stopping on the way home from work Friday and seeing it alone then.  Then also seeing it Sunday.  I would definitey want to see it twice, just not sure if I want to see it twice 2 days apart...

I also have tickets for Sunday, because that's the day I have available babysitters.

At least I don't have to put it off three weeks like I did GOTG.

Reido are you and I basically just using this website to have a conversation? :)

I just can't decide!!!  I mean I have a free movie pass so I could justify no extra ticket cost, but then I'm in for like $30 for popcorn, soda and chili dog :P.  Also I'd then have to get back on the T and get myself home like at 10 PM (not a big deal, just a pain).  Really though it all comes down to do I want to sit through this movie on Friday and again on Sunday.

Still, the SHIELD lead-in, though basically a commercial and pretty shameless, got me all pumped!

Old habits--in this case, randomly swinging by FFO when I'm bored at work, despite most of the time there being no new posts--die hard.

Loved it.  Not sure how it compares to the first one yet.  My initial reaction is that I liked this one more but I just got out of it.  Wait til you see that mid-credits scene...

Haven't decided. I brought my movie pass with me in case. Don't think I'm gonna go tonight but really it depends on how much work sucks today.

EDIT: Well, husband's plans got cancelled and I'm no longer on my own tonight.  So waiting for Sunday!

Loved it!

The new editions were awesome! Looking forward to Vision/Scarlet Witch romance. Bit of a waste of Quicksilver, but he was never really great as an Avenger anyway. Was a bit confused as to where Falcon went for the whole movie though. Like why would Fury not have used him WITH War Machine? Would have made perfect sense in that scene. I bought Spader way more than I was expecting to. Only oddness for me was the Barton family. Didn't get the point.
