They're incredible complex and I can't imagine how long it took to tweak everything, but sweet merciful crap no. Just...no.

Fuck Shit Stack.

Don't you have to actually beat your level for nintendo to allow you to put it up for everyone to play?

Yeah.  According to the Youtube description it took him nine goddamn hours to beat his own level and upload it (after spending five hours making the damn thing).

From Wasabi Sunshine.

True story:
I sat down with Mario Maker and my six-year-old and told her we could work out a level together.  Her primary input on the level?
"Make it harder."
"Give Bowser a mushroom."
"You should stick a giant pirahna plant on top of that giant Bowser."
"You should make it so you can't jump over that giant, giant-pirahna-plant-wearing Bowser."
"You can stick Chain Chomps in the cannons??  You should put a bunch right by that giant, impassable, giant-pirahna-plant-wearing Bowser.  And give them all mushrooms.  And make them all shoot super fast."
(Paraphrased.)

Course World needs some serious organisation.  The first automatic level was kind of amusing but the next eleventy fiveteen billion...not so much.  There needs to be a way to nope right the fuck out of having to play any more, ever.

The way the difficulties work for 100 Mario Challenge is based on clear rates. Normal is anything, hard is around 50% or less I think. I've heard Expert is under 10%.

I finally got this game. I have no idea why anyone bothers with Mario 1? The gameplay is shitty and not nearly as deep as Mario 3 and Mario World.

THere are some fun levels out there, but the most popular levels aren'tt even gameplay, they are just music scores. Weird.

appreciate the lists here.

Nostalgia, and mystery mushrooms.  I have plans in the works for a Super Princess Sisters level.. just need to unlock the Zelda and Sheik costumes.

Other than that I almost always use World.  It's the one I played the most growing up, and it looks the best (the "New" levels are sorta bland, visually... and I fucking hate the wall-jumping mechanic).  Which is why when I get to the end of a World level and there's no "Baaa-woooooooooo-oop!" and closing iris, I get sad.

I keep forgetting about the wall jumping mechanic. Definitely try and make more SMW levels than anything else. Haven't touched the game in a bit, been too busy. I want to get back into level building soon.

Did you tell her that she's gonna be the one to play it? Lol.

I made her four levels!  Mostly just running and jumping stuff, to start her out slow.  I played the first one to show her.  I got to a goomba--a single giant goomba, literally the only enemy in the level, and the little turd said "I think this might be too hard for me."

So...Wii U developed a fault, had to get another.  But the nintendoID is still linked to the faulty console and the internet is telling me that, being in the UK, there is no way to get it transferred over.  Apparently US users can call Nintendo and have someone do it, but over here a good natured "fuck off" is the best you can expect.  Pretty annoyed right now, really can't be arsed going through the process of unlocking everything in this game again, not to mention losing the stuff I've created already.  Ninty really need to just go third party, they're fucking abysmal at this stuff these days, cannot keep pace with industry standards at all.

That's horrible, it can't even be that hard to do programming wise.

Turns out it's not.  I sent an email to them at first then got impatient and just called up.  Person on the phone reiterated what I'd heard already, can't be done, there's just no way.  Then I got a response via email asking for some details of the account, passed them along and huzzah! The account was unlinked from the first console and I was able to link it to the new one.  So they do have the abilitiy, but I guess people at the call center are lazy fucks?  I'll partially retract my anti-Ninty comments, although this should be like an online form I could do myself in five minutes or less.

Unfortunately save data doesn't make the transition, so I still had to unlock everything in MM again...but with some furious copy-pasting of like 100 blocks at a time I got it all back in under an hour.
