After decades of disputes, the organization behind much of James Bond's struggles finally returns to the big screen. Christopher Waltz will be playing the villain, known as Franz Oberhauser. Some suspect it is an in-studio alias and he is actually Bond's arch-nemesis, Ernest Stravo Blofeld, the head of the organization.

Hoenstly, I hope Blofeld does not appear, no more than the back of a chair and the cat like in From Russia With Love. There needs to be a sort of mystery about him.

Also, tis looks to be Daniel Craig's last film as Bond before passing it on to another, given he said he'd rather slit his wrists than play Bond again.

Bring on Idris Elba.

Anyway, I can't wait for this movie.  James Bond has always been my favorite movie character, and I think Craig has done a fantastic job, and is the best Bond of all time.  I would watch Christoph Waltz sell wallpaper on an infomercial.

This movie is going to be great.

Idris Elba would be a fantastic choice.  We all know how great an actor he is and is effortlessly cool.

As usual I'm the moaning voice of dissent but I think Idris Elba would be a terrible Bond.  Some guy caught hell in the media recently for saying he was "too street" to be Bond, naturally the cries of racism were instant and hysterical, but he was absolutely right.

It's like "obscene."  You can't define it, but you know it when you see it. :)

In this context it means, essentially, "not posh enough".  The natural response to this would obviously be "he's an actor"...but Elba cannot even convincingly act posh.

It'd be good to see a Bond that isn't posh.  Given the different actors that have portrayed him they've all had they're own take on it.  It's be nice to so one totally different.  I always thought Daniel Craig's Bond came off the back of the excellent Bourne films, and it revitalised a tired franchised.  Why not do this again?

Bond doesn't need to be white, but he must be posh.  I can't be moved on that 8-)

You think Stinrger Bell can't "Bond"?  You think John Luther can't "Bond"?

Idris Elba is street as hell (it's called acting), don't get me wrong, but if you threw a tux on him and told him to go order a martini and then shoot that guy over there twice in the chest, he'd do it as smooth as could be.  Of this I have no doubt.

Daniel Craig was brought in strictly to be a dirtier, nastier Bond, and he did it with aplomb.  He got smoother and "posher" as things went along and he eased into the role.  Elba would do much the same.

Besides, if Roger Moore can play the role, can't anyone?

I think Stringer Bell and Luther can't Bond, yes.  Two good roles, nothing like Bond, but you didn't have any more similar roles to bring up...cause he can't do 'em.  His street is not acting, it's who he is.

Yikes and away!

So who saw it?

It was stupidly disappointing.

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
As soon as I saw the helicopter doing barrel rolls right in the beginning, my stomach kinda dropped - I hadn't heard any of the previous leaks/rumors/reviews, so I had no idea what I was in for. Holy hell this was a terrible movie, and I'm so sad this is likely how Craig's going out. No wonder he's been panning it. What a waste of talent of Craig, Waltz, and Mendes.

I just got back. Hated it. Not quite as bad as Quantum of Solace, but still really bad.

Casino Royale remains the only Craig 007 movie I would rewatch for fun. I liked Skyfall but never had a desire to watch it again.

It sucked. I didn't even really take note of the chopper barrel rolls. Just the way characters were introduced and dispensed of, the uninspired tropes, and stupid retcons, stupid retcons everywhere. Spectre fucking shat the bed. Wow!
