I mean come on...I figured someone here would be talking about it!

That is an amazing trailer, and so much more than I was expecting to see before E3 (I'm wondering if they knew a leak had happened and wanted to get it out themselves first?)!

Psyched that Dogmeat seems to be a big part of this game, and really psyched about the Boston location!!

I've said this elsewhere, but the Fallout series (3 and NV in particular) are games I really, really want to like, but just can't bring myself to enjoy playing.

New Vegas is amazing. It's how Fallout is supposed to be.

But as for Fallout 4, I'm taking a hard wait-and-see approach to it. Without involvement from Obsidian (essentially formerly Black Isle), I'm deeply concerned about the quality of the writing, plotlines, characters, roleplaying, world effects, etc. You know, the stuff that makes Fallout, well, Fallout, and not Elder Scrolls with Guns. (Fallout 3 was definitely the latter.)

Huh.  Interesting.  I loved both Fallout 3 and New Vegas.  I fell like I liked 3 better, but I played them 3 or 4 years apart I think (maybe more?) so I could have been misremembering my enjoyment.

But I'm sold just on the Boston setting.  Got a little giddy the other day playing Last of Us when I ran out of the state house and down the stairs to Park St station.  So weird!

Feel the same way.  They just don't grab me like the Elder Scrolls do.  Maybe its all the grey and brown graphics? :P

Fuck Shit Stack.

The new fallout seems pretty colorful to me. I blame the last gens over use of bloom effects and brown and grey palettes that were highly prevalant in early ps3 and 360 games.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. I'm hoping for a map that's as big as skyrims.

Thought about it.  But honeslty you can use your smartphone as a pip boy whether you have the plastic casing or not - I don't need to spend that kind of money to play make-believe :)

I have too much "collector" in me. It'll go on my office shelf next to my Master Chief helmet from Halo 3 and my Helghast helmet from Killzone 3 and all my kickstarter stretch goal rewards that I don't know what else to do with. I honestly like the big fatty case it comes in just as much as the pip boy casing itself. I carry a NCR messenger bag into the office everyday with all my crap in it as well.

Have it preordered.  Can't wait to not have time to think of buying any other game for the rest of the year.

I'm PROBABLY going to wait for GOTY edition (although I said I was doing that with Arkham Knight but changed my mind when I wanted a treat) because I'll def want all the DLC and I have enough games to tide me over.

But the trophy list looks awesome for this.  No karma trophies so you can just play how you want without any reloading.  In most games I prefer to play good but since I can't NOT take things from people's houses in Fallout I'm forced to play evil.

There is a trophy for killing 300 people called Masshole.  This will be my new favorite trophy.

New Vegas was great when it wasn't being fatally broken. I enjoyed Fallout 3 a whole lot more overall.

Ironically, the current build of New Vegas is probably less broken than the current build of Fallout 3.

Yep.  Just broke down and preordered game AND got season pass!

$30 season pass for this is actually really good - knowing there will be at least a few significant DLC that will probably be $15 - and it says "all the DLC."  It's not a season 1 or anything like that.

Taking the 10th off work too (unrelated), so might actually start playing a bit next Monday night at midnight!

So pretty much all of the reviewers I at least somewhat trust are saying that Fallout 4 is basically a "Bethesda game" in every established sense of that phrase.

Which is making me feel much better about my decision to put off buying it until it becomes dirt cheap. Of course, if Obsidian jumps in with another Fallout project using 4's engine, then I'll be there for it Day 1.
