Finally the night came and went.
I filmed a few, but here are a couple that aren't on the CD.

That's really awesome Testament! I'm going to
A New World
in Perth, Australia early next year, so this is a small taste of what to expect. :)
I'm just hoping there will be a FFXIV track somewhere, as I'll be very disappointed if they didn't include a track from the current latest tile (and it's reboot that has turned SE's fortunes around). ;)
Thanks for the videos. :)

Awesome videos. I've been to Distant Worlds a few times but I haven't been able to attend A New World yet. The one time so far they performed in my state happened to be the same night I had already bought tickets for a different video game music concert that was half the driving distance away so I had to pass up on it.
Looks like it was a great time.

They did a handful of songs that weren't on the CD, which I was thankful for. I would've liked to have about half of the material be new stuff, but was glad they didn't just follow the CD track for track. It definitely was a great time.
I wish they would bring Distant Worlds to Phoenix. Hopefully they will the next time around.
Have fun at the Perth show, Enkidoh!

Sorry for reviving this, but I just got back from the Perth
A New World
...and, borrowing a quote from Zubis, "I''m so amazed I can't even fangasm." :p
Utterly awesome.. got the CD and yeah Arnie chose some new arrangements that were not on the CD, such as the surprising choice of
Selbina
from FFXI, a track I actually despised in the game, but which this arrangement he and the orchestra took and made
beautiful
. :) And I was really pleased to see music from old-school FF games get attention like FFIV and VI (in fact, the only FF game that wasn't covered in the concert was FFIII). The hilarious part though was near the start, when, just before playing FFXIII's
Promise
and
Blinded by Light,
he asked (perhaps a little too innocently) how many people in the auidence liked FFXIII.... I swear out of a packed concert hall there was like... five people belatedly and meekly raised their hands. It was hilarious... :D
Favourite track was definetely FFIX's
Danger in the Forest
- I had long wished to hear an orchestral arrangement of this and the performance of it was everything I had imagined it to be. :)
And I sort of got my wish for a FFXIV track, the
Moogle Theme
medely included an arrangement of
Seven Jesters/Good King Moggle Mog the XIIth
from FFXIV, with the orchestra 'duelling' between that track and the original FFV
Critter Tripper Fritter
version... we all couldn't help but crack up laughing. :D And joining in the chorus on
One Winged Angel
was the perfect way to end it. :D
I really hope
Distant Worlds
ends up coming here eventually - given the fact this was a sell-out (along with the Sydney and Melbourne shows as well), that may actually become a reality. *fingers crossed*
P.S. funnily enough someone was brave enough to actually attend it in full moogle costume - even Arnie Roth noticed him and commended him for it, it was great. :D

Sounds like you enjoyed it as much as I did. I didn't want to spoil all of the stuff that wasn't on the CD. =)
