I'm going to try SCIENCE!

Luna: New Moon by Ian McDonald. It's kind of fantastic so far. I've heard it favorably compared to Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress in it's depiction of a libertarian society on the Moon, and while I haven't read the latter work, the current one does an excellent job of depicting Lunar society without drowning in the minutiae of it and spends most of it's time with a cast of rather excellently drawn characters.

The King's orders are absolute

I'm slowly working my way through R.A. Salvatore's The Companions. After I finish that, I intend to start on Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

I'm about 2/3 way through Peter Straub's Ghost Story.

First book I've read in some time.

That reminds me.  I need to reread The Talisman one of these days.

Yep, still gaming

Great book, The Talisman, reading it got me through some very hard times.
Well, I finished Hyperion and moved onto The Fall of Hyperion and I'm also reading The Illiad on the side (that Achiles sure is whiner).
Once I'm done with both, I'll read the second Skyrim Library volume, Man, Mer and Beast.

Fenix, how are you liking RP1? I didn't like it that much, but it left me wishing we'd have gaming like in the book in real life, I'd be at the Elder Scrolls world all the time.

I actually haven't started it yet. Got sidetracked away from reading in general, aside from a couple volumes of the Persona 4 manga I picked up recently. I've heard mostly positive things about it but I'll reserve my judgement until after I've seen it with my own eyes. I'll be sure to let you know what I think when I get there.

This thread hasn't seen much action lately?  Anyone reading, either on a device or turning pages of an actual book?

Back in 2012, I was out with my dad and we stopped into the local bookstore.  Since Christmas was coming up (or had just passed) and I'm so difficult to shop for, he told me to grab something.  So I grabbed Don Quixote in paperback.  It was a new translation, wasn't too thick, and the cover art was catchy, so I thought I'd give it a try.  After a false start, I put my mind to it a few years later and worked through it in a summer.  It was definitely not what I expected.  It moved, it was engrossing, and the metatexual nature, especially part II, was very cool.

This summer I am reading through it again to pick up what I missed the first time through.  Has anyone else ever read it?

When the Expanse was cancelled (temporarily, huzzah) I was so hooked on it already that I went ahead and bought all seven available (with two yet to be published) books in the series. I'm on Babylon's Ashes now.

Hyperion Master

I'm currently reading Death Wave by Ben Bova.  I love his Grand Tour series.

And that, as they say, is that.
