I played PlayStation VR yesterday

I only got a chance to play one demo which was Eve Valkerie. I went in very skeptical and was expecting a gimmick. Instead of trying to put the experience into words I'm just going to say I feel like I have played video games for the first time. My mind is blown away. Does anyone have questions about my experience?

Yep, still gaming

This is virtual reality where you put on goggles and experience the game as if you were there, right? did you get dizzy?

It was the goggles, yes. I felt weird after playing, a little disoriented. I'm pretty sure I'll need anti nausea medicine to play for extended time. I was in the game and it was breathtaking.

My eyes!  The goggles do nothing!!!

I want it at some point.  Definitely.  A lot of it for me is the "cinematic mode" that basically just acts as a second monitor.  So I could sit on the couch next to my husband playing a full PS4 game while he watches something else.

But not for $400.  At least not now.

Like anything I'll be interested after it has a lot of good games on it.

Man I didn't realize it was that expensive. That's like buying a whole new console.

Man.  I just want to sit, controller in hand, and play videogames on my TV.  At some point, we're going to go over a cliff and I'm going to just stop getting new games ever, because they'll have some new and highly-involved process to play them (motion controls, VR, etc).

I am old, Gaming Industry.  I do not want to strap a big thing to my face in order to play video games.  That's what my fuckin' TV is for.  GET OFF MY LAWN, RABBLERABBLERABBLE.

There will be heart attacks, this I'm sure of. It's too real.

It is going to be pricey but I felt like I'd of paid a grand to get that experience. It's just blows traditional gaming out of the water. I was very cynical going into the store but I felt like I went to grown up Disneyland when I left.

I also felt like the games were going to be lame and more gimmicky like the wii when it came out but what I played felt like a AAA title.

If you don't want to pay 400-500 bucks I highly suggest that you avoid the demo. It will make you fast in order to save the cash.

See I'll most liekly be avoiding the demo, cause I'm too grossed out to put a headset on that's used by the public :P

Well, I would love it if in the future I could put on a headset (?), get on my manual treadmill and just amble around in an open world game, I often fire up the last two Elder Scrolls games just to take walks, this would make it so much better.
I see how this can be branched into the finess busines, even.
But first we have to get used to it without the nausea and dizzness, yeah.
That brings out the question, Scribe, what did you play? if it was something, erm, unnatural, like cel shading or anime or such, would your brain totally freak out, I wonder?

This is the exact demo I played:

I took my time looking around a lot more, it's a shame that a lof of these demo videos don't spend time focusing on the details so it's hard for you to imagine playing the game in the headset and not as if it was a normal game. But I swear to you I felt like I was actually in that ship!

It's hard to say how a cell shaded game would be to play. I'm very curious though

Oh, my!
I would probably have to directly chew on a piece of ginger root to offset fast gameplay in this thing, but I WANT! I WANT!

Yes, what of it?

That looks pretty awesome. I'm beginning to wonder just how far out from "The Matrix" we are now... I expect Square to put out that FF Dating Simulation now...:(

Dragon Quest in VR would be awesome...
