Did you figure it how to deflect the laser with your shield?

I finally found the Hylian Shield a few days ago and haven't had time to play with it yet. I heard it can deflect MANY guardian lasers before breaking, and it can be repurchased at a low price

No, I figured out how to strafe-hop around like an crazy person (if I could change one thing about this game, I'd give Link the roll Aloy has in HZD).  I know about the deflection thing (thanks to that video going around a bit ago with the guy deflected them from a ludicrous distance away), but I didn't want to risk it after how ridiculously drawn out the fight had been. I want to find a grounded guardian to practice on first, too, but other games have been taking up my time, and I don't want to do it in front of my kids, because they get annoyed and bossy when I get killed.

If you do a perfect deflect it does not harm any shield even a boko one.

You can deflect/parry all the lasers you want with a pot lid, or any shield, and it will never break. Granted you dont wanna use that since the deflected beam's attack power is based on your shield strength, but the point is deflecting beams doesn't wear down your shield. Oops beaten to it By Clowd. Anyway,   If you want help with the deflections I suggest standing further away, it works easier for me.

I got to the Rito village yesterday.

I have a lot of really strong feelings about the Rito, and about Medli specifically. When the music kicks into the Dragon Roost Island theme I got a little verklempt.

Also found a Major Test of Strength shrine, something I've had trouble with in the past. Actually managed to pull it off (figured out how to deal with both kinds of lasers). It was deeply empowering.

This frigging game, man.

It's amazing ohw much easier old enemies that seemed so hard previously, become simple because you get good and just a few small uprades to weapons and armors. It's a lot of fun. I go around killing 10-15 gaurdian stalkers with ease now.  Still haven't beaten a Lynel yet though.

I'm working on replacing most of my weapon and bow arsenal with savage Lynel items now. To defeat the you need to learn their moves and read their tells to execute shield parries and flurry rushes. Running around kiting them won't work because they are so fast.

Even then I use a lot of recovery items. I make mistakes and they hit really hard. Especially the club wielding ones.

Last night I got one of them to drop a bow with 32 x5 attack power. It's fucking wicked.

I hope the DLC drops some new, tougher minibosses in the over world.
