My guess is more Bindo than Revan.

I'd like to see him go full Kreia, but that probably won't happen.

Fuck Shit Stack.

The asymmetry of the poster bothers me a little. But I'm sure there's a reason they did it that way.

I'm sure there are 30-minute fan theory videos on YouTube trying to read the tea leaves in that poster.

Don't read until you've seen the movie as it has spoilers:

Do you all agree with the review?

Critics seem to overwhelmingly love it.  Online commentators seem to overwhelmingly detest it from what I've seen so far.  Not seen it myself yet but I know enough to be sure I hate at least one major decision they made.

Most of the hate so far seems to be "OMG LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO LUKE AND TEH JEDI WAAAAAAAAH!111!!11!!"

Which means I'm probably going to like it for that reason alone.

Not that there won't be any other flaws that could dampen my enthusiasm though.

Most of what I've seen has been about bad plot, awful character decisions and a marked over abundance of completely incongruous Marvel comedy.

Atma Weapon
I Am Pure Energy

I thought it was mostly entertaining, but shallow, with some fluff that could have been cut out.

I'm not a huge Star Wars buff, but I liked it. Is it as good as the critics claim? No. Is it a fun flick that's better than A New Hope II (aka The Force Awakens)? Yeah, it is.

I made this for you!

Yes they did.

Silver lining here is that going forword I can choose to not give Disney anymore of my money, at least when it comes to Star Wars.

It was alright.  Aside from badly needing another pass through the editing room, it was at least a little bit better than Force Awakens, for what it's worth.

Now, to the spoilery stuff...
Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.

The good guys are still a lot of fun, including the new character, Rose.  And the highlight of the movie for me was *that* moment with Leia.  The most wondrous thing I've seen from the new canon.

The bad guys are still lame, and surprisingly stupid.  Looking at you, General Hux.   Kylo Ren has improved since last time around.  Maybe it's the fact that he stopped wearing that helmet and voice changer for absolutely no reason.  But he's a bit more relatable, and actually SHOWS his conflicted nature, rather than just telling us.  (Did he do anything remotely light-side in Force Awakens?)
Phasma is still pointless.

Who even was Snoke?   He's clearly a powerful dark sider, and old enough to at least have been around in the Original Trilogy era, if not the Prequels.  Did he know Vader or Sidious?  Are we not supposed to care?

Then there's Rey's non-revelation.   Building up a reveal like that over the course of two movies, only to have the answer be more or less nothing, is not what I'd call good storytelling.  Remember the creatures from M. Night Shyamalan's The Village?

Luke was entertaining, and Mark Hamill did a fantastic job returning to the character.
The way things ended up playing out didn't really bother me, since, well, I'm an Expanded Universe guy.  These new movies don't really "count" in my eyes, so they can do whatever they want.  Still sticks in my craw whenever they refer to Kylo Ren as Ben Solo, though.

Overall, it was entertaining.  Very well-made, if a bit uninspired.

Here's my review.

Spoiler: Move your mouse over the container to reveal.
Here is my take on the Last Jedi and I will be discussing spoilers.
This movie is a profound disappointment, not only on the basis of it being a Star Wars film but even just a movie in general.I??ll start with some general issues. The movie clocks in at around the two and half hour mark but it feels longer because it has glaring pacing issues throughout. The movie attempts to build tension and just as it feels like it might be going somewhere it completely stalls out and this happens multiple times throughout the proceedings. We could have easily gotten rid of 30 minutes of this bloated mess and the film would have been better for it.This movie tries way too hard to be funny at times and very rarely succeeds. Star Wars is not a comedy and this movie suffers from the same annoying ??let??s throw as much humor, whether it??s appropriate or not in there for the kiddies? philosophy that has started feaster in the Marvel movies like Thor: Sitcom-Rok.

Nothing of real consequence happens in this movie, you could go from The Force Awakens to whatever the hell episode IX will be and not feel like you??ve missed out on anything. This movie is a complete waste of time it does nothing to satisfactorily answer any of the questions that were raised with its predecessor. In fact, the movie seemingly goes out of its way to troll the audience with the answers it does bother to give. But the biggest sin this movie commits is it completely knifes the lore and the saga??s most iconic hero. I completely understand why Mark Hamill is upset with what they did with Luke and I hope for his sake that he isn??t contractually obligated to come back for nine. He deserved better than this and his character deserved better. Before I continue I want to be clear that I understand that Stars Wars has to eventually move on without previous key players in the saga. This has become an apologetic track that defenders of this movie and Disney-Starwars in general use to try and support some of the controversial decisions that have been made as far as story direction is concerned. The problem I have with this is that this can be done without completely SHITTING on the characters that made Star Wars what it is in the cultural lexicon. That??s not what??s happening. These past two movies have seen two of the saga??s most key players?Han Solo and Luke Skywalker??s characters be completely torn apart and seemingly cast aside as if their actions and exploits in the previous films don??t matter or ever mattered.Only Leia has been left relatively unscathed and now that Carrie Fisher(RIP)is no longer with us we won??t ever get a satisfying send off for her character either.Rey-She??s still as much of a Mary-Sue as she was in the first movie. Doesn??t have to really struggle with anything force-wise. Doesn??t really train with Luke in a meaningful way and by the end of the film is moving boulders with the force like it was nothing. She has no discernable arc, she already beat Cuck-Vader in the last movie and it??s pretty clear that if and when they fight again that she??s going to beat him. The reveal regarding her lineage ended up being a complete waste of time, all of the intrigue and set up, to only reveal she??s nobody of consequence is bad story-telling. Now before anybody comes at me with the BS apologetic of: ??No it??s good because it sends the message that it doesn??t matter where you come from....? NO you DO NOT execute that type of storyline scenario the way it they did here. If Rey??s parentage was really of no importance, there??s absolute no reason to draw so much attention or try to create so much intrigue around this when this could have summarily been dealt with in The Force Awakens. It??s not satisfactory, it isn??t fulfilling and it??s in principle a violation of Chekhov??s Gun.Finn&Rose-Nothing much to say here, these two were largely inconsequential and their storyline in this film is boring and slows the movie down. Almost all their scenes feel like we??re watching a completely different movie from the one we came to watch.Captain Phasma-New Boba-Fett who was overhyped, got little screen time and went out like a punk.Poe-Same as the previous movie. The typical hot shot fly-boy character who is clearly being set up as being the new Han Solo.Leia-Character-wise she was fine although I have issues with her uses of the force in the film. Never in these films are we given any hints that Leia has the ability to utilize the force the way she does here. The whole supergirl moment, I was waiting for the John Williams??s Superman theme to kick in when she uses the force to fly back into the ship. Complete nonsense and completely out of left field.Ben Solo-AKA Kylo Ren AKA Darth Emo-Git AKA Cuck-Vader. Still as whiney and bratty as he was in the previous film, but now with extra creepy stalker for all you girls out there who love the bad boys. ??Hey, what a cute butt, you don??t know him like I do?I can change him?. All joking aside, I??ll concede that the film tries to make him a bit more sympathetic but I just can??t bring myself to care at this point because he just isn??t worth the effort.

And for the last.
Luke-Perhaps the most profound disappointment in the film. This is in no way a slight on Mark Hamill who despite having major issues and righty so gave a great performance. I don??t even recognize this Luke, everything about him and his behavior is antithetical to the character we knew from the previous three films. In this movie he is largely portrayed as a bitter nihilistic asshole who simply gave up, ran away and had no intentions of ever getting back into the fight. This is simply too much of a departure and not believable in the slightest. If this wasn??t bad enough they even suggest that he would go as far as to consider and initially attempt to carry out the murder of his nephew. This is the same character who in RoTJ would not kill his own father, who by the way at that point in time as Darth Vader was a known MASS MURDERER, unlike Kylo at that point in the story would have been a complete innocent. Sorry but I have call complete and utter BULLSHIT on this characterization. We were robbed of ever getting to see Luke be the great if not greatest Jedi Master of them all. The final kick in the proverbial nuts is this Luke also ends up being a coward as well. He has the power to force-astral project himself across the galaxy but can??t use the force to getting his fucking x-wing out of the ocean and actually go himself. The real Luke had fortitude and courage and would have gone to confront these dangers in the flesh. The projection thing comes across as a cheap gotcha moment that one would expect to see in an M. Night Shayamalan movie. Besides that, if Luke really that that kind of power to pull something like that off, how in the hell would the effort kill him, that kind power should easily make Luke immortal for all intents and purposes if he??s this strong in the force.Fuck this movie, it??s done more damage to the Star Wars mythos than any of the prequels ever did.P.S.: Snoke is a joke and goes out in smoke so fuck that bloke with a stake made of oak.

Edit by Dh: Fixed the color issue with your spoiler.
