I got the Crash Bandicoot remaster, I loved those games, finished the three of them when I first moved to the US, I was so looking forward to play them, especially the third one, but I can??t do it, I just can??t, I know they are harder and I??m older and slower in my reflexes, but they are impossible, it??s ??Woah! Whoah! Whoah! Game. Over.? and repeat ad nauseam.
So! you guys think I??d like Bloodborne? it??s so cheap right now...

Bloodborne is one of the best damn games this generation. Absolutely get it, Mavilu.  In many ways it's a more logical progression of Dark Souls 1's gameplay and structure than the actual Dark Souls sequels were.

Okay! I have been eyeing it for a while now, I won??t wait and I??ll get it tonight.
As for Crash Bandicoot, yeah, something is not right, I noticed that pushing the jump button really hard makes Crash jump better, not something I remembered from before. A pitty, I got stumped on the first one at an ice stage, the second also at an ice stage, the one with bear and I don??t know if I have the heart to try the third one. ??

Played some of Twilight Princess last night. Right now I'm trying to kill these bugs in the forest for some spirit energy.

Completed Drakengard 3 and currently playing Odin Sphere.

FFIX - Hail to the King trophy.  After failing so many times between 200-250, I somehow managed to get through the 200-300 range and complete the 1000 jumps.  I could get to 200 easily every time and knew that if I could just get out of the 200-300 range I'd be home free.  Never again.

Also playing WoFF on Vita very sporadically.

Well, now I'm playing AC Origins.
It wants to be The Witcher 3 so hard, poor thing! last night, I actually did a side-quest oddly reminiscent of the one with the Var Attre twins, it is copying it to that level.
It does some things better than the aforementioned and I'm having fun, but... The Witcher 3 it ain't.

I hadn't played an Assassin's Creed since Altair, unable to swim, repeatedly flung himself off of piers into the harbor and drowned so many times I just gave up on the first game (and it's baffling lack of subtitles)...

.. and then my ex essentially forced me to play Syndicate (it was that or Origins and, while Egypt is cool, Victorian London is way more up my murder alley).

It's a lot of fun skulking around (ie, sprinting down the street like a goon, stabbing dudes in the neck, and sprinting away again), but honestly--and this was true of my limited experience with the first game--I could do without the awkward sci-fi framing device. And the game loses my interest a bit every time it forces me to play as Jacob; Evie is just so much more interesting. There's a scene with Dickens where he asks the twins if they believe in ghosts and Jacob is just "meh" and Evie is very enthusiastic about ghosts that sort of encapsulates the differences between them--Jacob is a generic bore, Evie is kind of a dorky weirdo.

Yeah, Evie is one of my favorite Assassins in the series while Jacob is fairly down on the list. Thankfully Evie is entirely front and center in the Jack the Ripper DLC.

Tried to play the first one, but I never got past trying to steal a wallet? simply couldn't do it.
Played the second one twice, loved Italy, wished I have gotten all the little film bits that showed some mystery concerning the apple, I guess.
Tried playing the pirate one, thought I would love it, love the Golden Age of Piracy, but bored me and made me nauseous.
This one, I'm only playing because I love ancient Egypt, there's so much to do and so many areas that made me giddy (OMG, the Serapeum!! Alexander's Tomb!! The Library!! etc) but, it's starting to get a bit boring in general, I mean, I have fun going to every question mark in the map and I love taking down soldiers in their forts, but the sidequests, eeeh. And I don't give a rat's tail about the story in itself. Also, the photo mode sucks, and the graphics aren't worth taking pictures, in my opinion.
Love petting kitties, though.

Inquisitor
Jericholic V2.0

So I finally "finished" Persona 3 after slogging through it on and off for about 3ish years. I actually got to the last battle and came very close to winning only to die due to some cheap bullshit by Nyx. I am moving on from that game. It was my first persona game and I have really mixed feelings. On one hand I love a lot about the game - I like that it isn't a traditional JRPG in a fantasy setting. I like that they gave us a modern day school setting in the real world. On paper I like the social link system and the mystery of Tartarus. But a lot of things didn't hit for me in this game. For one, I felt the Social Links were very hit or miss, and the plot itself just dragged due to the fact that you would literally go months at a time with nothing advancing the main story. I did like the main story, I just thought the whole day by day aspect really ruined the pacing. I will probably give Persona 4 a shot down the road since it's deemed to be the be all end all of JRPG's by many, but I need a long break from this series.

I played Firewatch yesterday in one longish sitting. My wife had surgery and is recovering which means I am home for a few days just making sure she is okay when she's awake, which gives me free time. My mother in law took the baby for a couple days too so my wife could rest, so I basically have the house to myself. I haven't gotten to sit down and have a gaming session like this in a long time. Firewatch was great. The art style, the writing, the characters, the world. It sucked me in. It was an experience you can only really have in a video game and it reminded me why I love this medium so much. I thought the ending was a touch weak, but it didn't detract from the overall experience. I hadn't played a game in one sitting in years so I loved every second of this.

I also played through Transistor and finished it up over the past week. I would say this game was very good, but eludes greatness. I had a hard time getting into the story. I never do well with games that just drop you into a world without any real explanation of what is going on and start throwing names and terms at you without really defining them. Final Fantasy XIII did this too. It took a while, but I eventually figured out what was going on in that game and enjoyed it. The art style and music make up for the deficiencies the game has in story telling. It also took me a while to figure out how to fully use the combat system and mix and match the different tools I had for combat. Once I figured that out my enjoyment of the game went up quite a bit. Something I will probably revisit at some point.

I started paying Outlast after I finished Firewatch last night. Something I will plan to work through slowly. I know it's not a long game, but horror/stealth games aren't my thing. I am just trying to knock out some of the shorter games in my backlog.

I am also going to start up Xenoblade Chronicles. I've never played it before, and it's probably the game I want to play the most out of my entire backlog. I decided it's finally time to dive in. I just wanted to finish up Persona 3 before diving into another long epic type of game. So really looking forward to that. Plan to start it this weekend.

Spidey
So Sigh Ety

Recently, I beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Phantasy Star 1, and Uncharted 4. Xenoblade 2 was a pretty good game, as was Uncharted. PS1 is surprsingly full of charm and fun for such an old game from 1988, but save states, frame skip and faq's really make the difference.

Now I'm playing Phantasy Star 2 and the Witcher 3. I 've had witcher for years but never really gave it the time it deserved, and boy am I glad I did. Phantasy Star 2 surprisngly isn't as fun as the first one, but I do actually like the dungeons as long as I use a map.

Testament  - I am in utter disbelief that you accomplished that 1000 jump ropes trophy, wow dude. Good job.  I can't crack 150, I gave up  after an hour. I can get to 500 or so on the PS1, but the lag on my PS4 is just way too much and I can't do it.

Spidey - I don't think I ever got over 100 jumps on PS1, because I thought that 1000 would be impossible.  I probably wouldn't have bothered on this version if there wasn't a trophy for it (silly, I know).  The hardest part, for me, was 200-300.  I only made it out of that range one time and that was my successful round.  What seemed to work for me was tapping my foot with the sound and pressing and actually lifting my finger off of the button each time, so the button would help me count.  Like 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &, where the sound would be the beats and the button would actually make a sound when I lifted my finger off of it for the offbeats.

I actually picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 around Christmas and just purchased a Switch with a Pro Controller which arrives tomorrow.  Can't wait.

Odin Sphere - Almost through Oswald's book.  Still gorgeous.

Little Nightmares - Started this last night.  I thought I would be enjoying it more than I am, but hasn't really done much for me, so far.  Probably finish it tonight.

SotC next week.  =)
