Back in 1999 I didn't have to live with the shame of FFVIII being my favorite Final Fantasy because I wasn't on the internet enough to know how people thought about it, and I was free to love it without that feeling being tainted.

Just kidding, I don't have any shame, FFVIII is fuckin' baller and I legitimately only have one issue with it*.

As one of the more rabid FFVIII haters from those days of olde, I'd probably be a lot easier on it if I played it now. I'd probably still be annoyed by Squall and Rinoa, but the rest of the game isn't bad.
