Anyone else wish Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker was working on something?  I would really love to buy another RPG from his company.

They made some mobile games.  That's about it.

You'd think that the guy who almost single-handedly revolutionized the jRPG market would get more work.

They're working on a sequel to Last Story, most likely. Mistwalker showed off some artwork a few months ago that was in the same style as Last Story.

Not going to happen. Lost Odyssey was financed by Microsoft to try to win Japanese gamers. It sold like half a million copies in the West, but it sold barely over 100K in Japan. Microsoft doesn't care about the half million who bought the game outside of Japan. So we won't see a sequel. I think Mistwalker's probably going to be Nintendo and Mobile only for the foreseeable future given their post-Lost Odyssey output.

I'm glad they've seemed to abandon MS. Don't give me any sort of reason to get an Xbone.

But they don't want old, emotionally stable men like Kaim.  They want angsty pretty boys like that guy from Final Fatnasy XV.

Though one game I hope to see a sequel of is Radiant Historia.  That game needs more love.

Mistwalker is weird because they don't actually develop anything. They do stuff like come up with character designs and music, but the making of the game is handled by other studios (Feelplus for Lost Odyssey, AQ interactive for Last Story, etc).

I'm also not sure if MS or Mistwalker owns the Lost Odyssey IP, though with the way the game ended I don't think a sequel is necessary.

They could always take the Final Fantasy route, but I do agree that LO doesn't need a sequel.

But who has ownership to the IP? There was Blue Dragon on the DS and we have seen Rare franchises published by Nintendo become Xbox exclusive. So if Mist Walker owns the IP couldn't they develop a sequel for the PS4 or Wii U?
