It all ends with beginnings...

From the crew who brought us FF7: Voices of the Lifestream. I haven't listened all the way through yet, as it is new, but there seems to be a lot of music in this one. I have also learned they have done FFI, IV, and V music as well.

The King's orders are absolute

FFIX and FFII albums are expected to be released later this year as well, with FFIII and the second part of the FFV album compilation in progress.

I did my share of pimping the album on Facebook and with some people I know locally when it came out on July 1st, and I started an album review I was planning on submitting as an article for FFS, but I wound up struggling too much with that so it's unlikely to be completed. But I will say that as a whole, I did enjoy this album a lot. There were some tracks I didn't care for as much, mostly a matter of personal taste regarding certain genres/subgenres of music, but I can't deny the level of effort and production that went into every single track. The vast majority of the album though, I find fits in the good-to-great range, with a small number falling short, and a couple others that exceed the meter and are simply amazing.

People on my Facebook have already seen this posted there before, but for anyone else who hasn't looked into this album yet, feast your ears:

Let's Play Chrono Trigger
Let's Play The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
Let's Play Final Fantasy VI

I've been there, hombre.

I actually just downloaded this a few weeks ago and listened to the first two discs. Of all the FF remix albums I've listened to, this one is the most consistently good one. There's a few too many songs that try to pull a Skrillex, but even those aren't too bad.

I noticed our own DragonAvenger contributed to at least two songs. Martial Law is awesome. Is DA still floating around here?

I don't think DA's been checking in on FFS lately, she would have made this thread herself back when the album first came out if she were. She's been doing pretty well for herself over at OCR though, she's a member of the Judge Panel and also plays bass for their official house band OverClocked University alongside OA, Level99, and diotrans. They've been playing at conventions like MAGFest and I think they were at PAX East this year if I'm remembering correctly. That Martial Law track was the first time she handled the arrangement as well as the vocals so she'll definitely be glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Another great track from the album:

And because I brought it up, here's OverClocked University:
