Having not played this new version I can't say for sure, but it might have the PSX OST. Square eventually patched the PC Steam release of Final Fantasy VII to have the PSX music, hopefully they've done taht preemptively for VIII

That's not to say they won't patch it in later like they did with FFVII, but you would think after all the controversy with that game's music they would've learned their lesson and released FFVIII right away with the proper music. But, yeah, Square Enix ..

You say that like they're the first company to dump an old PC game on Steam with no improvements ;P Not that I wouldn't have liked for they to update the old midis, since VIII's OST is one of the only good things about that games, but they arne't really being different than most other publishers/devs out there when it comes to updating old PC games. I'm amazed they even went to the effort of doing it with VII, considering the fanbase had it well handled and the port is so old and archaicly programed to begin with.

Yep, someone's already done it.

A few friends and I were just about to embark on an FF8 replay, so maybe we'll do this version for the sake of the added Magic Booster plus Chocobo World.
