There's a novel that takes place post-X-2. In that novel, Tidus dies (again). Yuna has a sad and somehow wishes him back to life. When he's alive again though, he has an injury that doesn't completely heal. Also, people all over Spira are now wishing for things and their wishes are coming true.

After that comes the audio novel that is with the HD remakes, and that deals with Sin's return, Yuna being paranoid that Tidus is cheating on her, and other stuff with things.

During an argument with Yuna while they're both stranded on a deserted island, Tidus dies by kicking a bomb he thought was a blitzball. Instead of leaving a corpse he disperses into pyreflies since he's still a fake person. At the end of the novel, after Yuna figures out the secret of the island, she does her magic whistle and that brings Tidus back to life. But she realizes he's not the same person he used to be so she breaks up with him.

In the audio drama, Tidus has gone back to being a blitzball star and has moved to Bevelle to join their new team while a blitzball stadium is under construction there. Apparently Tidus is friends with a woman there, and when Yuna arrives in Bevelle with the two new protagonists, she gets really mad and jealous and thinks that Tidus must be cheating on her. She breaks up with him again and says that it doesn't even matter because there's someone else she likes now. That makes Tidus jealous so he tries to track down Lulu to find out who the new guy is.

Of course, meanwhile, Sin has returned and is causing widespread death and destruction. But fuck that, there's middle school-level relationship drama to focus on.

Nojima wrote both the novel and the audio drama. Considering he had the grand, awe-inspring idea of, "Shinra's descendents built a spaceship and traveled to the FFVII planet and made the Shinra company so they could mine energy and make money", I'm not exactly shocked at the caliber of his newest contribution to the FFX mythos.
