So I've been holding off on the current hand held systems until now. Bravely Default sold me on the 3DS and PS4 remote play has sold me on the VITA. Now that I've been shopping around I've been reminded of one of the things that really rubbed me the wrong way with the VITA: the special memory cards... The stores in my town are also out of bundles and the online bundles only come with a 4GB card which is crap amount of space. I happened to go to the PS blog in just enough time to see this: https://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/02/10/new-ps-vita-model-confirmed-for-us-included-in-borderlands-2-bundle/

The bundle will include the new slim PS Vita system in black, the first-person role-playing shooter hit Borderlands 2 with six DLC packs, and an 8GB PS Vita memory card â?? all for $199.99

This is great concidering I almost bought the system alone and forked over cash for a memory card. Now I'll have the 25+ VITA games I've collected from the PS+ and Borderlands. I may still have to buy a 32 GB card even though I wish there was a 64GB so my FFVII-IX games could fit comfortably.

Was there ever any news of that FFX/X-2 VITA bundle coming over here?

And for the VITA owners: Is 8GB a really small amount of space?

It's not really small but it's not what I would call a comfortable amount if your aim is to have a good selection of games at hand.

Hell I only use mine to watch videos and I'm forever having to make room on my 8GB card, if there were more games I deemed worth playing I would absolutely have to invest in more space.

Taller Than Tall

8GB is incredibly small, especially if BL2 and the DLC are on the memory card...which they most likely are since it's a bundle.
