Monster Hunter is big in Japan.

No, really. It's a huge franchise there but it never caught on in Americo for whatever mysterious reasons. It's kind of actiony-rpg esque although I don't think you get levels, just gear.

I thought Monster Hunters was gaining steam over here as well. I know some people who absolutely love it.
As for FF explorers, I never really heard of this game.

I'm a monster Hunter nut since it came out on PS2. It's mostly released on hand helds outside of Japan so I don't play it nearly as much as I'd like. If there was an FF adoptation of the genre I'd like to try it if it was available for a console.
