I'm playing the PSP remake of FFT right now (which, with a patch applied to fix the slowdown glitch, is awesome), and I'm near the end of the game and wondered what setups people used for some of their final parties.  I've finished the game several times before but I like to play it differently every time.

This is what I've got so far:

RAMZA
Squire main, Arithmetician minor.  He has learned every spell that can be cast with Arithmeticks.  I have plans to have him dual-wield Rune Blades to give him an awesome MA stat to go with his 97 Faith stat.

AGRIAS
Dark Knight main, Holy Knight minor.  I spent the entire game getting her the Dark Knight class so she could improve on the bad PA value of her base Holy Knight class.  She is a decent candidate for wielding Excalibur.

BEOWULF
Templar Main, Samurai minor. He has a good MA value so I thought that Samurai would be a good thing to pair with it.  Not really sure about anything else for him.

Everyone else I am not 100% certain on.  I don't even know who I am going to use for the final two slots, although Balthier is probably one of them.  Anyone have an interesting combos?  My party is light on healing.

Hyperion Master

Never played the remake before. But I always enjoyed having a generic Summoner with Time magic in the original. Short charge(? I think that's what it was called, it's been a while) plus meteor or any of the summons tended to get the job done real fast. Good for healing/defense summons too because who's got time to wait forever for things to charge up.

And that, as they say, is that.

What is the patch you usd to get rid of the slowdown? I'm playing again through the story and that woul be a nice fix.

This run through I'm going with speed and light armor jobs. Right now my main squad is 2 thiefs, 2 archers and a white mage. Certainly not ideal but it's fun.

Thanks for the link!

I'll eventually replace the thief with ninja and throw in some hybrid geomancer. As you know, playing the game so many times its good ti mix it up lol.

So I finished up my full game playthrough recently. I was only really playing about an hour each night before bed so it was completed over a long stretch of time.

My speed group rounded out as a few Ninjas with Dark Knights. Dark Knights are way too good, really. I coupled them with a skill I didn't use much with the PS1 version, Shirahadori, and Feather Mantles. They became beyond overpowered because they could soak so much damage and dish a ton out.

I spent a lot of time in Deep Dungeon this time around too. I never used catch much because of the item dupe trick. Not having that meant I needed another way to get a lot of Chaos Blades.

Speedy Ninjas and powerful Dark Knights made fights like the 12 Monks a complete pushover.

I didn't really get a chance to fully use Onion Knight because I didn't do any multiplayer for he best gear. It's a shame because I spent so much time maxing out several characters.

In all, it was the FFT I loved with more easy buttons.

I guess I can go back to some single class playthroughs again.
