How did I miss this game when it was released?  I've never played anything like it, because I missed the Baldur's Gate series and other similar games.  It's like a mix of standard RPGs, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Age of Empires (I feel like the combat is similar anyway...).

I'm cruising along with this, and I'm loving every minute of it.  I don't feel overwhelmed by the mechanics, I'm getting my ass kicked by bad guys (at least by those I have no business facing yet), and I don't feel overpowered or underpowered.  My crew is great, I'm enjoying the characters I created, and the quests are fun.

Did anyone else play this?  Is anyone currently playing?

Not currently playing it but I'm glad to hear from someone who's enjoying it!  I'll probably start it once I finish my run through Fallout: NV (spouse already called FO4 when we get it for Christmas).  I'll try and remember to post impressions here once I start.

I backed it and played a bit when it came out before getting sidetracked by other games. It really is lots of fun. I feel like it's a lot more focused of an experience than Divinity: Original Sin. I don't really feel overwhelmed in Pillars at all.
