The needless cringey humor was probably the worst part, for me.  I actually prefer TFA, because at least the plot had something to it (even if it was stolen from ANH).

Even with a JW soundtrack... a turtle-paced space race is pretty boring.

It just felt unneccessary.  I suppose they had to get the "Jedi training" & Luke's story out of the way for the finale.  Hopefully Ep. IX will be stellar.

This movie was a freakin mess up until Yoda showed up. The very first scene with Hux and Poe - the humor attempt was ridiculous. Much of the humor in this move felt so out of place, at least half of it needed to be cut. 

Rose is barely a character. She could have been removed and the entire subplot could have been Finn and BB8. The codebreaker is the only interesting character out of the entire casino subplot, including Finn. Not to mention the entire subplot is pointless and feels like an afterthought to get Finn in the movie. The entire secret mission should have never happened cause fucking Admiral Holdo should have told Poe what the fuck was going on. I'm pretty fucking left leaning and not all up on the "lol SJW liburls" shit but this entire plot line screams "men are too stupid to understand things, leave it to us women".  Literally the entire codebreaker subplot was for nothing - the mission should have never been undertaken but Holdo thought she needed to teach Poe a lesson? Without it, the transport ships get away scott free cause there is no codebreaker to sell them out. Like just thinking about this entire thing makes me so angry. Holdo should have never even been there - for chrissakes you kill Admiral Ackbar offscreen but instead of using him - a beloved character, you have to throw in Holdo. 

Leia's magical sudden mastery of the force is fucking ridiculous and should have never been done. If you wanted to develop that shit it should have happend last movie to explain how Luke trained her or something else. I literally groaned as she flew back into the ship. Before this I was immediately thinking "what a beautiful death for her" but obviously this was the plan the whole time since she's in all of the ending scenes. The hyperdrive into Snoke's ship was another super obvious point in which she should have been used instead of Holdo. I would have fucking cheered and cried if that's how Leia went out. 

Luke's character was throughly assassinated - pretty much all the points already made in this thread. I will say I don't have a problem with the force projection stuff at the end. I assume that either the X-wing no longer worked after being under for so long or he purposefully sabotaged it when he first arrived. The entire last part of the movie taking place on the salt planet was the only decent stretch of the film. 

The Yoda scene was fucking amazing and when the movie finally started to turn around just a smidge. 

Rey's no parent thing is just disappointing. Without it, there is no good explanation for her power and sudden mastery of the force when she knew nothing about it. We spent 3 movies of the original trilogy showing the son of chosen one undergoing all this training to be able to do not even half of what rey can now do. I don't buy the whole "the light rises to meet the dark" bullshit. 

Snoke was wasted. I didn't like him in the first place but now his inclusion is even worse. 

I don't even mind Kylo - I think he got better this movie. I don't even mind force skype. At this point he is totally justified cause fuck Luke Skywalker. 

Seriously that first trailer came out and the movie literally wrote itself and then the movie that came out was nothing like that. It's like like they put a 12 year old in charge of this script with all the holes and bullshit in it. 

i personally like the way Snoke was handled, it was a great example of what Luke was saying to Rey about legends. Snoke literally thought himself some grand piece of some legendary game and bam killed easily by angsty McGee.
