This is a HUGE change to the FB design. They are basically integrating usage from various other internet titans' services directly into FB. So you won't have to just "like" a movie, people will be able to see exactly what you're watching when you're watching it. It's optional of course but it cuts down big time on new feed spams. I highly recommend watching the f8 conference which demos the new features and what apps are now allowed to do.

Yeah, Facebook these days basically makes me want to hunt down Zuckerberg and punch him in the testicles so hard all eight of his great-great-grandfathers are retroactively catrated and his entire line vanished from the timestream in a puff of paradox.

I took the time to hunt down every freaking way Facebook tries to scrape data on me and added it to Adblock+. They're not learning a goddamned thing I don't explicitly tell them.

You should make a guide on how to do it Southern Comfort. I keep wanting to make a page, but then an upgrade that takes away even more privacy comes up and keeps me from doing it.

Mostly these days it's just add this subscription to AB+: https://www.squirrelconspiracy.net/abp/facebook-privacy-list.txt

If you wanted to do it the hard way, though, start by adding *fbcdn.net* to the AB+ list, and installing Ghostery to Firefox with every checkbox for facebook and fbcdn checked.

Not sure why it hasn't gone live to the public yet. I heard there was a legal battle going on over the Timeline brand name, timelines.com seems to have an issue with a massive site like FB using it as a title for their new profile layout. I'm enjoying it so far and think it will ultimately dumb down what I have to manually share and just leave certain things on autoshare instead.

There was a page that seemed to let you get it now without going through all that developer milarky. It's on my facebook page somewhere, would find it but on my phone right now.

That new layout actually looks really good, makes the pages look more customizable. As someone who uses facebook mainly for professional networking, this is a good thing.
