I'm asking you guys how you feel personally, which locations do you feel were the most creative? The world of FFVIII was very imaginative. Are there any locations (towns, non major locations, sidequest locations) that impress you to this day?

I love the asetheics of VIII. The colors, music and scenery are great. The gardens with their sci-fi infused look but practicality make them feel like a place you can go an stay at. Stylish towms like Dollet with the Triple Triad room is a nice touch. Fishermans Horizon is great too. A place that seems cobbled together and unique, especially the mayor's house and location. And of course the music blends wonderfully wtih it all.
Even though it's not my favorite of the series, probably mid to upper tier, my favorite destination is IX's Lindblum. Just this massive walled city with a colorful and playful architecture seems so much fun. I loved how the city is built up in tiers with airships flying around. I've always imagined what it would feel like to live in a place like that.

Fishermans Horizon was a great location! I am still impressed when I think about the moomba's village and places like Lunatic Pandora. It really had a creative setting. The colors involved in the game were spectacular as well!

Balamb Garden is too this day one of the most aesthetically pleasing areas I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Something about the main floor with it's double rings of water. Combined with the music made me never want to go to Timber after my first run. Just knowing it'll be so long till I get to return to it.
And that, as they say, is that.

I loved balamb garden as well. The soundtrack to 8 was also great with a lot of soothing tracks that I still go back to listen to. I think it's definitely one of the weirder stories in the series though.

Yes, what of it?
FFIX was just so wierd and mysterious as a whole for me. It managed to capture a wonder and a sense of exploration I never have found in any other game. What immediately comes to mind was that castle that you had to equip the weakest weapons, in order to cause damage. I also like Madain Sari. The desolate and abandoned places still had so much life. It truly felt like a world that had been around for a long time, yet still was very much unexplored. I loved that.

FF9 definitely had a creative world map. I liked the multi layered islands with the main fields being covered in the dangerous fogs, but the plateaus added another area of exploration. It also had some great towns to explore. I loved Lindblum and Treno.

Esthar for me when it comes to creativity. Though my personal favorites are Balamb and Winhill.
(I missed posting here. How's everyone doing?)
