The Hulk
Good Boy

So there's fan translation available now...is this game worth checking out then?

Crono
Crono can cross dimensions too!

The only problem with the fan translation is that you have to upgrade your hacked PSP to the absolute latest firmware.  I'm a bit out of the PSP scene but I know there were still good reasons to stay at 5.00 for a while; not sure if 6.20 is the best now or not?

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

AFAIK the latest ones are all preferable now.  It's a bit moot now because I've already downloaded it and played a bit on my hacked Vita.  Not sure I'll even bother playing any more, the intro was long, boring and melodramatic and the battle system is overwhelming and confusing.  And this was hailed as the best FF in years...I really think I'm done with the series.

I didn't think it was boring, but there was some weird editing going on. Also, the battle system didn't seen to be too confusing to me. Got a little hectic at times in the hour or so I played.

You probably still have patience and an enthusiasm for gaming though, whereas I get bored of almost every new game I ever play within five minutes.

According to the FFwiki's news crawl (which is the only ff-related news crawl I still follow), Type-0 has been confirmed for an ENGLISH HD re-release on the PS4.

For the first time in years, I'm actually anticipating a Final Fantasy release.

Type 0 HD looks amazing.

No wonder the director is taking over Nomura for FF15.

With FF14 corrected and Type 0 HD coming, I feel FF may be slowly getting back on track you guys.

I've been there, hombre.

Looks good, I just wish it was also coming out on the PS3. The graphics don't scream PS4/Xbox One exclusive to me.

Yeah the graphics aren't up to PS4/Xbone, but I think the producer/director/whatever said in an interview a while back basically the only reason they are doing this is to get people up to the current consoles in preperation of FFXV.

So, it's a bait-and-switch game then to push more PS4s? Alright, you win this time SE! *shakes fist*

Just to elaborate - I found the article on Kotaku:

2) Why Xbox One and PS4? Why not Xbox 360 and PS3?

Because Square Enix is concerned about Final Fantasy XV. They want to make sure Final Fantasy fans own current-gen consoles, and Type-0 is their way of helping get people to segue into the modern generation.1

This was something I had assumed when the HD remake was first announced, and Tabata confirmed it this afternoon. "Is it fair to say that this Type-0 HD remake is meant to get more people to buy PS4s and Xbox Ones for Final Fantasy XV?" I asked.

"There is a part where we believe it's kind of like the first step," Tabata said. "When we released Type-0 on the PSP in Japan, we were able to garner a new audience, a younger user-base. There's a lot of fans who say that Type-0 was their first Final Fantasy, so we're hoping that'll be the same for the overseas market as well, in kind of garnering and capturing that new age group when a lot of our Final Fantasy fans are becoming older, more mature.

"We do hope that it becomes the first basis for Final Fantasy XV when we release that globally."

Plus, Tabata added, he has no experience developing games for Xbox 360 or PS3, so those were never really considered.

It's you guys' fault

Aw, kind of wish they added something besides difficulty modes.  Still, now there are games on the current-gen systems I'm actually interested in, which is  sad because I'm still behind on previous gen games.  x_x

I really wanna believe this.  And for once, Square hasn't given me a reason not to.  So far.
