Catastrophe

Did anyone else see this?

Saw it on friday and I loved it. It's everything that Clash of the Titans was trying to be. It had a great visual flair, and definitely had Tarsem's usual visual aesthetic all over it, but also had the earmarks of a 300-esque sword-and-sandals movie (it was a lot more violent than I was expecting). The cast was great all around, with the standouts being Henry Cavill (*drool*) and Mickey Rourke, taking a potentially campy role and giving it some real pathos.

The 3D wasn't so hot, but it wasn't terrible either, the main problem being that the picture was a touch too dark during a couple darker scenes; not enough to make you wonder what's going on, but just darker than it should be.

I just watched The Fall on HD and it was amazing as fuck. I'm a bit wary of Immortals, as it looked a bit camp, but if you say it's everything CotT was trying to be, it must be at least okay, considering CotT was one terrible idea after another falling flat on it's ugly-ass face.

Oh it was a million times better than Clash of the Titans. Sexier lead actor, more beefcake, better visuals, better special effects, better story, it's not a remake, better actors, better performances...and so on.

Well it's a cobbling together of popular greek myths including the story of Theseus and the Titanomachy, to form Theseus' rising up against King Hyperion setting out to destroy the gods with the help of the Titans.

I'll admit the story was a little flimsy but it wasn't that bad, if you were to ask me.
