Yeah, I saw it. The trailers lie. The film is so much better. (Heck, even the poster lies: It's "Live and die on this day".)

Totally agree, Liam Neeson is much less of a superhuman than the trailer implies.

Also one of the ballsiest endings I've ever seen in a movie.

I've heard tell of the film being re-released in October so's to push for Oscar noms. When announcement time comes, I feel Neeson should at least be nominated for Best Actor, after such a strong performance. While they're at it, they should nominate Frank Grillo for Best Supporting. I mean, his scene at the river alone is enough for me to give him a thumbs up.

This an Oscar movie? Doubt it from the way the Academy vote.

Anyway this movie should be called Liam Neeson fights wolves. There's an after the credits scene btw...though it's only about 5 seconds.

^ That's exactly what it shouldn't be called; and to be fair, two weeks ago, I would have wholeheartedly agreed with such a title, however facetious it may be. But with respect to the actual film and its message and Ottway's progression as a character, such a title is a total disservice.

In much the same way, I felt that that 5-second scene after the credits was relatively unimportant to the larger themes of the film, and that The Grey could still function as a complete work without it. I do wonder if it was really Carnahan's choice to keep that in there, though.

Haven't seen it, waiting for the blu-ray. Love Liam Neeson.

While it's certainly not Oscar-bait, it's certainly Oscar-worthy from what I've heard.
