Is there a way to sell a crapton of comics all at once?

I have over 800 comics collected editions, mostly Marvel. I've got them all nicely catalogued in a spreadsheet, cause that was fun for me for some reason.

I stopped buying comics almost a year ago because my financial situation changed and I could no longer afford it. Now that I'm no longer buying new ones, I no longer feel a compulsion to keep the old ones. I'd love to free up the space and get some cash to go towards a condo (cover price of my books total is over $15K), but I just have NO clue what to do. The thought of trying to sell them individually or in small lots on ebay just disgusts me - I'd almost rather give them away for free. I feel there must be some way I can get someone to take 800 trades and give me a few thousand dollars, right? Anyone have any clue? Cause I'm at a loss.

What about craigs list or something like that? Did you ever see how much each comic might be worth? Are they even worth a couple thousand? Maybe sell them at a comic convention?

I gave mine to the local library, but I didn't get any money for it. I did, however, get a sense of vindication in knowing that they'll either go into circulation, or get sold to benefit the library indirectly.

Wow, replies! :P

I actually contacted someone who buys comic lots for resale at shows (the Wild Pig show, if anyone's heard of it). He was only going to offer me $1500 - basically less than $2 a piece. And that was only if I could get it all to him in a week. But he did suggest that some of what I have really should go up on ebay - he pointed out one item that regularly goes for over $200. So I guess no easy out for me - I'm gonna have to do some work!

If anyone IS looking for any hard to find trades or hardcovers (almost primarily Marvel), let me know and I can see if I have it - we could try to make a deal.
