What do you think of the app? The price seems to be pretty high, I suspect they should have a drop soon enough. I haven't played War of the Lions so this is my best bet considering I don't own a PSP

Yikes and away!

I have it. If you're a big fan of the game I don't see why not. And if you haven't played WotL yet, you'll probably get a kick out of some of the story bits that changed, were added, and new translation.

There's some slowdown and it naturally devours your battery, but other than that it's the FFT we all know and love. If you don't have a PSP but still want to check out the new translation, this isn't a bad way to do so.

I had no idea the iOS FFT was based on the PSP version, I thought it was based on the PSX release. Does it have less slowdown than the PSP release? If so I may nab it when I have an iOS device.

I played through it on my iPad actually (the pixelated look on the iPad wasn't terrible when it was blown up).  I actually really enjoyed it and would recommend it.  I used to use it to play maps while running on a treadmill in the winter because I hate running in the cold.  It kept me entertained.

It also made a few people at the gym chuckle, but they were just jealous that they didn't have my mad simultaneous running/gaming skills.

Didn't it get patch recently to remove some of the slowdown? I know there's a homebrew patch for WotL on PSP that gets rid of it. You need custom firmware, but it's fairly easy to install.

Whoah, I hadn't heard that.  *checks my favorite site* Yeah, it exists.  Well, I was going to start going hard on Let us Cling Together but I think another replay of FFT is on deck now!

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

I haven't played the iOS version since it first came out, and I did notice some updates that said it fixed some of the slowdown. It was never a major drag for me (it was more speedy than the PSP anyways) so if it's even been fixed since then, it's all good.

If I remember right, the only thing it was really missing was the spell dialouges. Other than that, yep, it's WotL and worth picking up.

...Hell, maybe I'll start another new game now.
