Did anyone else stumble across this?

https://kotaku.com/5924518/how-to-break-final-fantasy-vi

I can't believe after so many years, people still find new ways to break the game.

That is pretty awesome! I saw a speedrun of FFVI that did a glitch that gave the entire party in the World of Ruin Magitek riding sprites while in cutscenes and in locations. They didn't actually have Magitek abilities in battle but it was pretty funny to watch. I really don't know how people find this stuff.

Crono can cross dimensions too!

There is a vanish/sketch trick that gets you the "on raft" sprite too.  Fenix, I'm assuming you watched Essentia's recent runs (mabye for the SDA marathon or just a stream); I know she's been doing that one a lot lately.

But yeah, this is a pretty awesome find!  I used to play on emulator all the time and I'd make a hard save right before heading to the floating continent, play through the WoR using save states and then die so I could be brought back to WoB with crazy levels.  I actually can't remember if your spell list stays learned or not... I might have to learn something quick later tonight so I can remember.

Currently Playing: Dark Cloud 2: 3 hours.
Also Playing: CT, FF VI, Solatorobo, Secret of Mana, Halo 4.
Just Finished: Fable II: 7 hours.

Holy crap.  I'm amazed.  And slightly creeped out with the Terra thing. ;)

Yeah, it was Essentia's SDA run I saw it from. I also kinda like the way Terra looks with the Celes color scheme.

Is this about that long running SA thread? You'd be amazed with the free time ppl have, but it's hilars!

Same w/the Terra using Celes colors, looks cute.

No, it doesn't. When you save, die, and restart, the only thing retained is the number of expiereience points you've collected.

I'm going far far away somewhere

Holy crap I did not know about this. I'm going to have to play this game like this one day. Will just find a save that has the airship ready and then see what kind of mischief I can get into. Should be so fun.

I saw this earlier in the week.  Man, I love Popfiction.  But did anyone notice that the levels/HP don't quite match...?  At 5:27 it says the party's levels are 27-30 but their HP is around 150-250.  Wtf?  They clearly use a cheat device after that because they jump to 9999.  Also, at 6:43 they have someone other then Relm in Relm's spot; Oops.

Yes! I frequent Kotaku and tried it as soon as it was posted. I had to use an emulator and cheat codes for time's sake, but the trick works. It reminds me of the trick to get back to the World of Balance. Basically, you have to leave a rat alive at the opera house, and in Ruin, go back and get annihilated. You will be transported back to Balance. It doesn't work on the remakes because the rats were deleted after the opera scene. These kinds of tricks represent a truly sloppy code. heh
