Desperately seeking RPG closure

Great song. I've always been interested in the translation process from the Japanese versions to the English versions of FF songs (of course, they sometimes don't bother...FFX). The lyrics still somehow seem to fit, even though the song was originally written in Japanese.

The only higher score was my rendition of The Carpenters Superstar.

Though my wedding was slightly FF8 themed, EOM didn't make an appearance other than a piano version during dinner/cocktail hour. My husband and I purposely chose to avoid songs that suggested a couple that wouldn't be, ironically a lot of couples choose songs for the sound and ignore that there are depressing lyrics. Both of us were overly particular about every track ever played during the thing (thank god for the best DJ ever).

Even our first dance song (only in dreams by weezer) was cut to the ending/no-vocals part since he didn't like how the lyrics are about an unattainable girl and didn't fit.

I'm with Spidey. I like the song, but it's not spectacular. Of course, it's much easier to like a song when you can attach it to a game/movie/show, so the FF8 attachment does bring it up a notch in enjoyment. But if it weren't for FF8, it really wouldn't have that much going for it.

Also, personally, having been exposed to the slew of sappy, romantic love ballads from J/K/C-Pop, Eyes On Me definitely does not stand out in that arena.
